bishop o'dowd's 6'8" freshmen (2019) raymond hawkins scored 9 points with 8 boards in his 1st high school game
lou richie told me he's the real deal, the potential to play at ivan rabb's level...like his efforts with young ivee, richie who is a true educator & a firm believer of his young men all becoming high character student athletes, is working overtime to provide hawkins with the necessary academic tutoring/mentoring to ensure a bright future for a young man from a challenging background
raymond hawkins, write the name down

team: ucla bruins
shockster 2015/2016 pac 12 prediction: 5th place
coach: steve "rapist enabler" alford
what you need to know about alford: did you know that he is a "rapist enabler?"
check out the orange county register article: "alford's past paints blurry character portrait"
http://www.ocregister.com/articles/alford-535065-indiana-basketball.html
if steve alford has not protected his star basketball player after he raped the 1st student, then the 2nd victim most likely would have been spared this violent crime
if alford had been a basketball coach at an iowa middle school rather than the head coach at the university of iowa, then he would be in a prison today for his documented role in enabling/facilitating a convicted rapist to escape justice all in the name of his winning a few more basketball games
alford then waited a decade to make an insince apology as mandated by the ucla athletic director during april of 2013:
"at that time i instinctively and mistakenly came to (pierece's) defense before knowing all the facts...i wanted to believe he was innocent and in response to a media question i publicly proclaimed his innocence before the legal system had run its course"
"that was inappropriate, insensitive and hurtful especially for the young female victim and i apologize for that"
"i have learned and grown from that experience and now understand that such proclamations can contribute to an atmosphere in which similar crimes go unreported and victims are not taken seriously"
why did alford wait over a decade to apologize?
does alford truly feel any responsibility for the 2nd rape victim because of his actions?
steve alford=dana altman=joe paterno
what up in westwood?: the bruins lose stabilizing team leader normal powell (16.4 ppg & 4.7 rpg) & inefficiently underutilized future nba 1st rounder kevon looney (11.6 ppg & to be sorely missed 9.2 rpg)...bryce "whose your daddy" alford (15.4 ppg), tony parker (11.5 ppg & 6.7 rpg) & isaac hamilton (10.6 ppg) were inconsistent last season & will be joined by blue chippers prince ali & aaron holiday & former cal recruit thomas welsh...team chemistry & ball movement along with defensive toughness could be real issues this upcoming season
steve alford's program is now also in the middle of a major academic cheating scandal
http://collegebasketball.nbcsports.com/2015/10/11/report-former-ucla-adviser-alleges-academic-wr
what this means for the bears: cal is in numerous recruiting battles with ucla for key 2017 prospects but will steve alford still be the coach in westwood given the unrealistic expectations of the ucla donor base?

despite senior andrew andrews going off for 30 points washington (16-12/8-8) lost to oregon state (16-10/7-8) 82-81 as the huskies are in serious danger of missing the ncca tournament for the 5th year in a row...with andrews gone next season along with potentially murray and/or chriss too, romar is on the hot seat in seattle

ucla is 15-12/6-8 including victories over both kentucky & arizona, they are a dangerous basketball team with a talented starting lineup
the bruins are led by 6'5" 185 lbs isaac hamilton (17 ppg with a lethal 40.9% on 3 pointers, he needs to be accounted for at all times), 6'3" 180 lbs mercurial coach's son bryce alford (16.1 ppg & 5.5 apg), 6'9" 260 lbs atlantan tony parker (12.7 ppg & 8.8 rpg), former cal recruit 7' 245 lbs thomas welsh (11.5 ppg with a highly efficient 59.8% on fgs & 8.2 rpg) & 6'1" 185 lbs aaron holiday (10.7 ppg with 41% on 3 pointers)
ucla's starting line up is arguably as good as anybody in the pac 12 but they got no depth, they can be worn down both physically & mentally...the bruins starters play a lotta minutes in big games, the bears gotta push tempo & make alford play his usually unproductive bench...cal also gotta attack the basket, if any ucla players get in foul trouble that will be an opportunity for coach martin's team to exploit...if the game is close it should be noted that tony parker is a 50% free throw shooter (62 out of 124 free throws)
but most importantly, the bears gotta bring energy & a fun attitude like little kids playing basketball on the playground with their best friends...cal fans gotta get to haas pavilion early or on time (don't be late, that's a weak move) for the 6:00 pm start (leave work early, tell everybody that you gotta go save the world & that you are on quest larger than life), our guys get amped up & play their best basketball when you are screaming from the ******* rooftops
let's ******* do this (defend the haas), baby#

romar is a good person who is a great recruiter but only an average gameday coach, his departure would create a larger opportunity for cal with jaylen nowell

If UW moves on from Romar, would UW hire Decuire? Local ties, etc. Jaylen Nowell would then be a lock for UW...

Good post.
What are the match ups?
Who guards Hamilton? Jaylen or Bird?
Let's see:
Wallace v Alford
Bird/Mathews v holiday
Jaylen v Hamilton
Rabb v the 6'10" frosh wing
K2 v welsh/Parker
Hmmm. I could see Jaylen getting into foul trouble. He'd better be careful and move his feet. Hamilton should drive attack lean in and try to get J outa there. Maybe switch bird on him at times and bring singer in for holiday.
