tyrone "the skipper" wallace

the bears played like a lost ship at sea heading for a titanic disaster into the rocks for 31+ minutes down 44-41

and then t-wall (17 points with 8 assists) rallied the troops, unlike the las vegas games with frustrated body language on the floor & even on the bench, he huddled the guys several times during the final 9 minutes keeping everybody calm, telling them they would weather the storm & that he could see sunny skies ahead if they stayed together...when tyrone huddled the guys you could see it in his teammates eyes & nods of their heads that they love & respect his leadership

the bird man: last year & even the east carolina game this year, jabari sometimes goes into a tower of not power funk if he misses his 1st shot or two...tonite the bird man missed a couple of shots, but he stayed mentally tough and kept shooting...jabari let it fly & the shots started going in and he finished with 11 points, 5 boards & no turnovers and most importantly, the best d of his ******* young life in the last couple of minutes...if jabari can bring that kind of d intensity all the time with snarling blocks & physical on ball defending, the bears are gonna be very tough to beat

where's ivan: young ivee only got 7 shots tonite, that's not acceptable...our coaches are really smart guys, they need to do a better job of scheming touches for rabb...as lou richie told me, "when ivan touches the ball, good things happen"

zone buster: cal dribbled too much in trying to beat seattle's well coached zone, not crisp passing...mitch elkins gotta dig out the video of the bears decisive & on point passing last november on the biggest stage in the world madison square garden vs jim boeheim's vaunted syracuse zone...cal's most efficient sets started with an entry pass to young ivee at the elbow of the free throw line, he's multiple in his ability to then attack the basket or unselfishly distribute the ball to the wings for open 3 pointers or back door cuts

out of africa: roger moute a bidias followed up his outstanding play in vegas with several key plays in limited minutes tonite, he made the most of his opportunity to help his team win the game...roger is in a very good place right now mentally & deserves to see the court more

defense wins championships: the bears d the last 9 minutes of the game was relentlessly suffocating & physical as the team finished with 10 blocks...yeah, offensive fireworks gets you on sports center & played out vines but defense wins championships

this could've been another cal state bakersfield disaster but thanks to t-wall vocal & steadying influence it was a 14 point victory...but don't be fooled, them california golden bears gotta lot of work to do as they strive to reach their vast potential, this is truly a work in process

and yeah, jabril let me throw a t-shirt into the upper deck & the refs talked to me, shut up shocky

the bears gotta continue to elevate their games heading into the laramie altitude this weekend for a very tough road test in front of cal's 1st truly hostile crowd of the season...nobody in wyoming is gonna make signs that say "we love you jordan" or **** like that

compete (mentally tough)#

what is the biggest area of much critically needed improvement for the cal basketball team if it's going to achieve it's unlimited potential during the upcoming season?

getting the ball to ivan rabb down low in the paint where he can do something offensively with his vast but currently underutilized scoring skills

this is totally on the bears guards & cal coaching staff, wake the **** up...you gotta special talent, try sharing the ******* basketball with him, ok?...guards gotta look for ivan & the coaches gotta scheme better for rabb too

i could tell ivan was getting frustrated during the 1st half with the minimal amount of touches so i yelled at young ivee "ivan, finish with the ball, be selfish baby" as he ran downcourt by me...ivan actually looked at me with a pained look & said "i'm trying"

i feel young ivee's pain...he played for 4 years at bishop o'dowd with his montera middle school best friend point guard paris austin who unselfishly shared the ball with his mcdonald all american teammate in places that ivan could do severe & permanent damage to opponents

then the **** hit the fan...i attended ivan's post high school national high school all star games which were remarkable for the guards like allonzo trier absolutely never sharing the ball, just jacking up off balance 3 pointers...the only way for bigs to score in these playground games is offensive boarding put backs

then the bears went to australia & more of the same with young ivee not put in positions to be successful

let's be real here, if them callifornia golden bears don't figure out a way to feature my boy ivan rabb offensively, then both young ivee & myself are gonna transfer to tami rabb's former school, them sacramento state hornets

and yeah, then i'll start a thread entitled "sacramento state's monster class"

https://vimeo.com/45797764

young ivee only had 7 shots last nite & several of them were from offensive rebounds, we're still not there in terms of feeding rabb in positions where he can do damage to our opponents

jayce johnson was a cal lean after his official visit to berkeley but special k, a former nba post man, convinced the johnson family that graduating high school early & enrolling at utah this spring while working against future 1st rounder jakob poeltl every day in practice before he declares for the 2016 nba draft was the best move in terms of basketball development...the offense in salt lake city goes thru the bigs, they are schematically put in positions to feature their skills

the bears are likely not gonna recruit another post (unless it's a transfer) until 2017 so there's still time to work all of this out but the bears recruiting message cannot be "come to berkley, we'll make sure you get lots of offensive putbacks"

work in progress#

team: washington state cougars

shockster 2015/2016 pac 12 prediction: 12th place (last place)

coach: ernie "donor lover" kent

what you need to know about kent: ernie got pushed out the door in eugene for having an affair with the married wife of a major donor (not phil knight)...at an academically mediocre school like oregon you can recruit low character basketball players with criminal records who got low gpas that aren't interested in graduating with a degree that ultimately rape female students on campus & that won't get you fired (just ask altman) but if you bang the wife of someone important to the athletic department, you're done baby, pack your **** & get out of town

what up in pullman?: the cougars best player davonte lacy (team high 16.9 ppg) along with bears killer jordan railey (the catalyst for the cougs upset victory in berkeley on january 4th with 17 points) & starting wing dexter dexter kernich-drew are gone...returning junior josh hawkenson (14.7 pgg & 10.8 rpg) & junior ike iroegbu (team high 3.4 apg & 8.9 ppg) won't got get much support this season

what this means for the bears: if the bears hibernate & don't take them cougs seriously, they will lose another ******* game to wsu...that would truly be a shame

my niece bailey doing a selfie with klay thompson at haas this season, dude is bailey's favorite golden state warrior

i dunno klay thompson isn't even my favorite washington state cougar, it's really not even close

the cougars (4-1) finally lost their 1st game the season in a narrow 69-60 defeat to #13 ranked gonzaga

let's be real here, the pac 12 doesn't have a dominant team at this time & it's gonna be brutal gauntlet of conference games

congrats to san franciscan stephen domingo on being named for the 2016 good works team

http://www.calbears.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30100&ATCLID=210551529

stephen is a hard working true student athlete with academic ambition (mom is a doctor) & a remarkable work ethic

domingo is an intense guy, last season's bears were not edgy enough, not enough alpha male **** on the court

it appears to me that stephen brings a mental toughness to the team but that he's pressing too hard right now, hopefully he will find the right balance for him of relentless intensity & a relaxed freedom of flow that will allow to unleash his skills on gamedays...the bears need more contributions from the bench in order to achieve the team's elite potential

the bears staff is actively recruiting 6'1" 155 lbs brandon williams the top ranked pg on the west coast in the 2018 class from crespi carmelite high school

williams has elite court speed & vision and can create for both his teammates & himself with jumpers off the dribble

the 2 schools on him the hardest at this time are cal & arizona

williams led crespi carmelite to a high school championship at haas pavilion last spring & then his parents joined him for an unofficial visit this november for the blue & gold scrimmage...he's already built a strong relationship with fellow los angeles guy, roman davis

brandon kinda wasted his academic talents as a freshman with a 2.5 gpa but is now very motivated to become mentally limitless, he's gpa this year is closer to 3.3...as his gpa continues to rise, the difference between an academically mediocre school like arizona with its 95% acceptance rate & the #1 ranked public (#3 overall) university in the world will become more of a factor when a decision is made down the road

cal's started at the bottom class (2018)#

*will graduate/graduated from cal joining 2012 grads bak bak, brandon smith & robert thurman

cal fans can expect every player listed above to either leave cal with a degree and/or a nba contract..patrick christopher, justin cobbs & richard solomon all have around one remaining semester of schoolwork necessary to earn their cal degrees...as the wise marco harris once told me, men take care of their business

of the 300+ ncaa d1 bb teams, cal is among the most academically elite programs along with stanford and the ivy leagues most noteably harvard

the above is the MOST IMPORTANT stat sheet in cal basketball

this is the difference between basketball factories that use up & then discard their workers (leaving them unemployable on the streets) in today's highly competitive global economy and legitimate collegiate institutions of higher learning with an academic purpose...if you go to an academically mediocre school like kentucky or arizona & get injured you are ******

academic ambition is a beautiful thing, it will open doors in business after your basketball days are over & help you meet the girl of your dreams (and you're not thinking about it now but it will also help you raise intellectually curious children someday)...you can be limitless mentally

hot girls from academically mediocre schools wanna date & marry cal, stanford & ivy league grads when they leave their school & enter the real world, that's just the way of the world

don't be a dumb azz#

how important a priority are academics for the cal basketball program?

last season the only days the team missed classes during the fall semester was for the bears once of a lifetime trip to the greatest stage of earth madison ******* square garden where they upset them hometown syracuse orangemen

this season other than half a day today for travel to the not quite beachside town of laramie the bears won't miss any classes this fall

when well intended but misinformed cal fans wanna know why the staff don't schedule michigan state on a tuesday night in lasting during the preseason, this is the answer...you gotta go to classes if you're gonna graduate from the #1 ranked public university in berkeley, california

or yeah, you could take the easy road in life and get your ged or arizona degree & then work the graveyard shift at 7/11

the laramie crowd tomorrow is gonna outnumber you & your team 10,000+ to 15...every stolen pass, every thunderous block, every drilled 3 pointer by the cowboys is gonna result in ear numbing roars that shake the floor of their home court arena...it's easy to give in to weakness, to crumble under pressure...this is game of the year in the state of wyoming

yet your guys stay together, they don't play perfect basketball, that's not possible & that's not gonna happen...but they play with poise & passion and there's a real sense of confidence in one another when it really matters, t-wall is gonna provide senior leadership & keep his guys huddled up with positive messages of perseverance

team: oregon ducks

shockster 2015/2016 pac 12 prediction: 4th place

coach: dana "the criminal" altman

what you need to know about altman: during labor day weekend of 2010 tony woods beat the crap out of his girlfriend in front of their 8 month old child...woods was arrested and charged with three counts of assault for kicking and pushing courney lorel barbout who suffered a fracture of her spine in the attack

against the 6'11" 250 lbs woods, courney had no chance to protect herself

wake forest did the right thing and suspended woods

so oregon's sleazeball head coach dana altman recruited woods to shore up the ducks interior defense

dana altman & steve alford are enablers of sexual predators that commit crimes of violence against women if it means they might win a few more games

who else has altman recruited to eugene?

*elgin cook, declared ineligible during high in milwaukee for having a gpa under 2.0 & also left school for florida due to his involvement with gang activity
http://themilwaukeedrum.com/2011/02/13/the-tragedy-of-elgin-cook-other-mps-black-student-athletes/

*jordan bell from long beach poly was academically ineligible out of high school

*christiano felicio from brazil was declared ineligible by the ncaa after attending a roseville "prep school" handpicked by altman that is facing allegations of academic fraud & child abuse
http://fox40.com/2013/01/10/roseville-prep-academy-coach-arrested-for-physical-abuse/

*jaquan lyle, 2.5 gpa in high school & suspended for fighting in high school was ineligible to enroll at oregon

*ray kosongo was denied admission by the university's special admission board which was created by concerned faculty re: altman's disinterest in recruiting high character student athletes

*ben carter, suspended along with dominic artis for selling team issued shoes/gear, transfered to unlv

*a.j. lapray transferred to pepperdine

*brandon austin, 2.6 gpa in philly, was suspended from the providence basketball team after being charged with a sexual assault of a female student...he immediately was recruited & transferred to oregon...when confronted by the media, altman claimed he checked austin's background but did not know he raped a girl while at providence...charged in the rape of an oregon female student...dismissed

*damyean dotson, suspended during the season for trying to use a fake id at a bar...charged in the rape of an oregon female student...dismissed

*dominic artis, named in the rape of an oregon female student...dismissed with a court restraining order does not allow him to set foot on the university of oregon campus

*elgin cook & jalil abdul bassit were arrested by the eugene police department for shoplifting at market across the street from matthew knight arena on sept 12th of last season...dana altman has stated "we expect our student athletes to conduct themselves as solid members of this community and team...both were "internally disciplined" (which means nothing as usual)"
http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2014/10/two_oregon_ducks_basketball_pl.html

*dana altman knews that elgin cook had been cited for assault & battery, disorderly conduct and vandalism four years ago in wisconsin before he recruited him to oregon...criminal dana altman has stated "i was aware of elgin's background prior to his arrival at the university of oregon...the two years before he arrived here, elgin did very well at prep school and junior college, especially in the classroom...we would not have recruited elgin if we didn't believe he was capable of receiving a college education that he would appreciate and value"
http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2014/10/dana_altman_was_aware_of_elgin.html

*jordan bell cited for harassing an oregon parking officer attempting to place a ticket on his car...altman suspended bell for 1 game, a home game vs pac 12 cellar opponent washington state

*dana altman has been named in the lawsuit against the university of oregon filed by the female student victim of the brutal player sexual assault for his role in allegedly lying to authorities that he did not know that brandon austin was dismissed by providence for raping a female student

*when mike montgomery had his cancer scare dana altman & his henchman tony stubblefield negatively recruited against the bears basketball program using this medical situation as a reason not to attend cal

make no mistake about, altman & stubblefield are pieces of worthless ****, they are dancing with the devil

what up in eugene?: oregon is losing pac 12 mvp joseph young (20.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg & 3.8 apg) & jalil abdul-bassit (8.2 ppg)...the ducks are returning elgin cook (13.2 ppg & 5.2 rpg), canadian dillon brooks (13.0 ppg & 5.2 rpg), dwayne benjamin (8.4 ppg & 5.8 rpg) & bouncy jordan bell (5.1 ppg & 6.1 rpg)...newcomers include villanova transfer dylan ennis & gunner tyler dorsey (and his dad)

what this means for the bears: cal will need to match up with oregon's defensive/rebounding intensity, that did not happen last season...if the bears can limit the ducks fast break attacks, then oregon will struggle in their half court offense as they likely not be a strong 3 point shooting team this season

oregon basketball is a corporate sponsored sports program that is loosely affiliated with a mediocre university that lacks academic integrity that is coached by a criminal

yeah, it's business as usual in eugene

moneyball#

there are few things better than watching criminal dana altman lose a basketball game, he's already lost in the game of life...as the ducks go down in flames 80-69 to unlv in vegas

the cowboys won 25 games last season & competed with the bears in berkeley with only a 3 point loss but that ncca tournament team graduated 6 seniors...wyoming is 5-2 this season with a road defeat at indiana state & a 1 point home loss to montana state 83-82...the cowboys drove off the range to denver this wednesday in an impressive 68-52 defensive win that they played lock down d the final 7 minutes allowing only 4 points

wyoming is led by led by the terrific & multiple senior 6'2" 190 josh adams (21.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg & 4.9 apg), controlling him is the absolute key to the game...the cowboys also got a solid supporting of wranglers in 6'5" 195 lbs jason mcmanamen (11.7 ppg on a lethal .527 3 point %), sweedish all name 6'5" 205 lbs alexander aka gorski (8.7 ppg with a .463 3 point %) & 6'9" 210 lbs alan herndon (8.0 ppg on an accurate .667 fg % & 4.0 rpg)

defensively the bears gotta defend the perimeter which they haven't done this season (284th in the nation in 3 point defense allowing opponents to shoot .375 %) against the cowboys who are 43rd in the nation with the most 3 pointers, some of our guys look like they are in slo mo closing out on perimeter shooters thus far...it should also be pointed out that cal is 334th in the nation (out of 337 teams) in forcing turnovers (a lazy azz 8.86 opponent turnovers per game), let's take the ******* ball away, ok?...get in somebody's grill & make them uncomfortable for a change

offensively the bears should be able to push the fast break against a poor rebounding cowboys team, the bears are at their absolute best when t-wall clears the board & leads the attack up tempo...wyoming will have no answer for ivan rabb but who knows if any of his teammates will be able to feed him including his roommate jaylen brown who's had ZERO assists the last 3 games, he may be putting atlanta on his back but he's sure not taking young ivee with him

let's do this#

this year's bears need much stronger alpha male personalities to emerge starting with senior leadership from t-wall...getting frustrated with refs is for candy azz soft broken down losers, you gotta be stronger than that...that's the way the game is called these days, deal with it & adjust accordingly...try moving your ******* feet instead of grabbing azz with your hands, ok?

coach martin should trade this entire team except for my boyz the walk ons for 13 scholly guys from the projects who grew up with a single mom on food stamps that had to fight for everything...maybe then we could actually create hostile pressure & actually force a turnover...trust me passive people aren't gonna inherit the earth

left to right, tyrone "the captain" wallace, kameron "putback" rooks, jordan "en fuego" mathews, roger "the chaser" moute a bidias & sam "grand theft larceny" singer...ivan "oaktown" rabb not pictured as he was doing interviews & patiently signing autographs near the cal bench after the game for the young ones

gameday started on an ominous note as the bears rode in a luxury coach bus 1000 yards from the hilton garden inn to the ugly azz concrete dome of doom...yeah i walked in laramie's 29% temps with the sun on my back to the arena with my jimmy john's ham & cheese sandwich (extra lettuce & tomatoes, no chips, cookies or soft drink)

and then josh adams (who constantly talks/whines the whole game) starts knocking down shots from all over the court to get the gold clad wyoming crowd amped up...sitting in the 1st row behind the cal bench both marcus green & myself yelled at the refs the entire game re: adams illegally pushing off with his non dribbling hand/forearm to create separation

the bears employed multiple guys trying to slow down adams & the most effective chaser was roger "lion king" roger moute a bidias who utilized his length & quickness...roger is in a very good place right now playing within his skill set in defending at a very high level, crashing the boards for potential rebounds & knocking down the occasional wide open 3 point shot

jordan mathews endured a cold shooting afternoon but crucified his soul in overtime to lead the bears to victory with ice in his veins moneyballs with ivan & jaylen already fouled out in regulation

t-wall once again kept the team together during the cowboys runs & scored 23 points on 10-22 fgs, 6 assists & 6 boards

jaylen brown is frustrated right now, his body language is a little bit off, but i expect him to continue to mature & play thru this rough stretch as an incoming freshman...a little meditation with a focus upon visualizing positive outcomes is all brown really needs...namastae, my friend

i saw & heard the postgame handshake line conversation between coach martin & coach shyatt (who like his star player adams also is an insufferable bitchy queen) and i'm not gonna tell you what shyatt said but there's absolutely no reason for the cal basketball program to ever return to laramie anytime in the next decade or two

them california golden bears competed & stayed together as a team in crunch time...now if they could only make a simple entry lob pass to young ivee but that's for another day...the magnficient 2nd half lob from t-wall to ivan which resulted in a 3 point play should be model gameplan play for this season
