the cal staff is actively recruiting pj washington a 6'7" 220 lbs top 25 player in the 2017 class from frisco texas that is currently playing for findlay prep...coach wyking jones is the bears lead recruiter for las vegas & has a longtime relationship with the family dating back to his prior coaching position
washington is a power forward with a 7'1" wingspan
pj recently narrowed his collegiate finalists to: arizona, cal, texas, kentucky, michigan state, ucla, florida, unlv, north carolina, michigan, memphis, wake forest & texas am and told josh gershon that cal, texas & ucla are recruiting him the hardest
yeah, pj washington would be a valuable addition to cal's touch the sky class (2017), he's no lupe fiasco

charles o'bannon jr, a 6'5" 190 lbs top 30 player in the 2017 class from bishop gorman high school & the las vegas prospects, has been offered by coach martin
o'bannon got serious length (and is still growing) along with lethal behind the 3 point line shooting skills along with a solid mid range game...charles is multiple like the guys in cal's diamonds are forever class (2015)...he's working this summer on both his d & ball handling skills
charles is a highly coveted national recruit with ucla (dad & uncle played there), arizona, kansas, uconn, unlv & louisville all targeting the articulate student athlete...but only the #1 ranked public (#3 overall) university in the world offers an elite combination of academics & basketball in a family environment along with ideal weather in the diverse & cosmopolitan bay area
yeah, o'bannon would be a strong fit with cal's touch the sky class (2017), he's no lupe fiasco that's for sure
chuck got an aau coach who is in his ear all the time re: the #1 public university in the world
yeah, that would be monty buckley
last time buckley recruited a kidd for the bears it turned out all right for everybody

the bears staff is actively recruiting 6'1" 155 lbs brandon williams the top ranked pg on the west coast in the 2018 class from crespi carmelite high school
williams has elite court speed & vision and can create for both his teammates & himself with jumpers off the dribble
the 2 schools on him the hardest at this time are cal & arizona
williams led crespi carmelite to a high school championship at haas pavilion last spring & then his parents joined him for an unofficial visit this november for the blue & gold scrimmage...he's already built a strong relationship with fellow los angeles guy, roman davis
brandon kinda wasted his academic talents as a freshman with a 2.5 gpa but is now very motivated to become mentally limitless, he's gpa this year is closer to 3.3...as his gpa continues to rise, the difference between an academically mediocre school like arizona with its 95% acceptance rate & the #1 ranked public (#3 overall) university in the world will become more of a factor when a decision is made down the road
cal's started at the bottom class (2018)#

so you're saying it's not over for creasy jr, jemarl baker, that there really is gonna be a sequel to man on fire?
who knew
losing a basketball game is kinda like getting dumped, you are emotionally damaged goods & you think about what you could've done differently to change the outcome...yeah the shockster was pretty upset after the arizona & virginia road games
but you gotta go forward, there's no point in looking backwards & sometimes the solution is right in front of you & then we're off to the races

jemarl baker's junior season is over after scoring 10 points due to foul trouble as his roosevelt mustangs (21-7) lost a heartbreaker 56-54 to redondo union in the southern section open division playoffs
check out the video below of jemarl's desperation 3 pointer that came up just a little bit short...big time players wanna take big time shots in big time games, baker is a ******* big time player
jemarl is considered the best long range 3 point shooter on the west coast in the 2017 class, check out the perfect shooting motion with squared up shoulders & flip of the wrist on the release, who does that remind you of?...yeah, jemarl baker is a lot like joradan mathews, he's creasy junior...but sometimes the shot doesn't go in & the breaking bad narco terrorists get to kill you in a trade for the innocent, no shame in that & you are going home
jemarl baker & alec hickman are outstanding early commits to cal's touch the sky class (2017), they are no lupe fiascos that's for sure...bears fans can't wait for those bad azzs to ball out at haas pavilion

team: oregon state beavers
shockster 2015/2016 pac 12 prediction: 6th place
coach: wayne "who's your daddy" tinkle
what you need to know about tinkle: wayne's daughter elle plays at gonzaga & daughter joslyn plays at stanford
what up in corvallis?: the beavs return everybody including senior point guard gary payton ii (13.4 ppg, 7.5 rpg & 3.2 apg), malcolm dunvivier (10.7 ppg & 3.5 apg), victor robbins (10.3 ppg), berkeley's langston morris-walker (9.3 ppg & 4.6 rpg), jarmal reid (8.3 ppg) & olaf schaftenaar (7.8 ppg) plus tinkle's son tres & assistant coach stephen thompson's son jr (whose recruitment wisely ended by the cal staff when dad took the job in corvallis), both are top 100 2015 recruits...the beavs play fundamentally sound defense particularly in the interior under assistant coach gregg gottlieb but their abysmal team rebounding (other than payton) will hold them back, osu is gonna be tough when the final score for both teams is in the 50s & 60s
what this means for the bears: cal will need to push tempo vs the methodical osu, the new 30 second clock rule will not help the deliberate beavs

there are very few things in life more joyous than watching jordan mathews run back on defense after knocking down a 3 point moneyball with j mat signaling with his fingers that's he off to the races with his tongue hanging out & a determined smile forever frozen in time
yeah, creasy jr jemarl baker has got a lot to learn
