Oregon OLB Patrick Hisatake the Latest Golden Bear
The Bears added yet another summer commitment with the announcement of 6-4/240 Westview (Clackamas, OR) High School OLB Patrick Hisatake today via Instagram that he’s committing to Cal.
After thanking his coaches, trainers and teammates, Hisatake said in his livestream: “I’d also like to thank all the coaches who recruited me and gave me the opportunity to be a part of their program. It means the world to me. Being a kid from Hawaii, I always dreamed of being in the position that I’m in today.
“That being said, “I’m announcing my commitment. Go Bears! I’m a Bear! Cal brotherhood.”
Rated 3 stars on 247 (86) and Rivals (5.5), Hisatake has grown into his body, morphing from a cornerback and receiver to a prototypical DE/OLB while retaining much of his speed and agility.
A native of Hawaii, Hisatake will be reunited with friends Muelu Iosefa and Fatuvalu Iosefa at Cal in 2021, a factor that played a role in Hisatake’s decision.
The Bears beat out Michigan, Nebraska, Yale, UCLA, Utah, ASU, Arizona, WSU and more for Hisatake’s commitment. He is scheduled to play in the 2021 Polynesian Bowl in Honolulu in January.
