Bears Pick Up First Commit of OV Weekend #3 With Kailua OT Esaiah Wong
After a red hot start to the summer official visit season, the Bears added their 17th commit of the 2026 class, picking up 6-5/290 Kailua High School (Kailua, Hawaii) offensive tackle Esaiah Wong this morning.
Wong is one of a host of talented offensive lineman in Hawaii this season and is one of many of Cal’s growing pipeline of players of Polynesian background.
The 3 star OT was one of several 2026 recruits to be named to the 2025 Polynesian Bowl as a junior and the future Bear played with four future teammates in the annual showcase along with Cal QB Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele, safety Aiden Manutai, cornerback Jae’on Young and linebacker Lebron Williams in January.
The Bears beat out some tough competition for Wong, particularly in UCLA and BYU where he had family connections to both programs along with Washington, SMU, Utah, Nebraska, ASU, Arizona and more.
Wong joins fellow 2026 Cal commits QB Brady Palmer, running back Victor Santino, WR EJ Morgan, TE Taimane Purcell, OL Tommy Tofi, Elisha Faamatuainu, Koloi Keli and Artem Korchagin, DL Nemyah Telona, edge Camron Brooks, ILBs Jonathan McKinley and Jaxon Pyatt and DBs Jayden Crowder and Deon Jackson, who also visited this weekend.
