First Day of Regular Season Practice: Gerran Brown, Bankhead, Laris Gone

As the Bears moved from fall camp mode to in-season practice Wednesday head coach Justin Wilcox announced some roster reductions. Inside linebacker Gerran Brown, who started four games last year and was expected to play a major role in the defense, was forced to take a medical retirement for an undisclosed injury.

Greyson Bankhead, a redshirt sophomore wide receiver, is out for the year with an undisclosed upper body injury.
