Early years of Tedford were amazing. A few bad breaks, untimely injuries, and near misses against $C paid their toll on him.

This first 2 years of tedford were amazing. The rest was continual disappointment on the field and a stadium we can't afford. And for that, I am grateful.

Really great to see.

In Cal Strong's strong opinion, Coach Tedford returning as an analyst (like he did at UW) would get Cal over the hump and help us win the North. It would be a lower time commitment, and more conducive to his health. And it would be a good way for him to go out at Cal.

Musgrave certainly seems to need all the help someone like Coach Tedford could provide.

I'm not sure that would work out...I think that would work at a place like Washington. But I'm not sure that would work at Cal.

It perfectly legal. It just a matter of convincing Coach Tedford to do it and finding the support to get it done. This on Wilcox and the AD. It part of the job.

My point is that an offensive head coach hiring an offensive guru who used to be a head coach to help out as an analyst, as was done in Washington, seems like it's just helping out.

But a defensive head coach hiring an offensive guru who used to be a head coach to help out as an analyst seems like it would send a message to the offensive coordinator that he doesn't trust him.

Gary Patterson is a defensive coach, and he hired Sonny Dykes as an analyst after we fired him as HC.

It doesn't really matter what side of the ball the HC used to coach. Musgrave can be a big boy and listen to some of Tedford's ideas. He hasn't exactly earned the right for full autonomy.

Will always be grateful to Jeff Tedford for what he did for Cal football.

Tedford and Bruce Snyder (RIP) are the two best Cal football coaches I've witnessed in my 33 years of Cal fandom.

Also a big part of my Cal shrine, along with a team autographed football from 2004. Many of us would not be on this board if it weren't for his contributions. Go JT!

I hope he passed on some offensive insights to Wilcox and his staff. Lord knows they can use all the help they can get.

Poor JT. We sent a recruit from my high school who met with Tedford and the tree people could be seen right outside his office window and completely distracted them both while meeting. He ended up going to ASU.and frankly it was no loss for the Bears!

It's not the years it's the miles, but yeah, pretty amazing. He should be in the prime of his career. We should have assigned our nutritionist, training staff and sports psychologist to keeping him in top form.

I'm glad he seems happy and I'm glad he has a good relationship with Wilcox and holds no grudges. I think Strong's suggestion of a position as an offensive advisor would be fantastic. He has the Oregon connection with Musgrave, Wilcox et al. Maybe even a role in the athletic department? Bet he would be a great fund raiser.

Wilcox likes to hire his friends. When Sark hired Wilcox as DC for UW, Wilcox hired his friend Tosh, from their days together at Cal, as his DL coach. Tosh delivered him Cal commit linebacker Shaq Thompson to be the focal part of his defense, coached up by Wilcox friend who he hired as LB coach, Peter Sirmon.

Tedford clearly has zero animosity toward anybody involved. Quite the opposite, he clearly has warm feelings for his former coaches and players and associates from Fresno, Oregon and Cal. Cal fans view it as betrayal, and the event that signaled Tedford's demise at Cal, but Tedford probably views it as business, just part of the game. Just play within the fraternity of highly paid mercenaries.

The reason Tosh is so hated by Cal fans is because he is a Cal Bear that screwed Cal, his alma mater and he went above and beyond, breaking the rules to do so. It is our grievance. He betrayed us,
