I like to post this public service message now and then: weight about recruits means nothing, unless a prospect is asked what he weighs RIGHT NOW; you don't know how old that number might be. At that age, if he weighed that number 4 months ago, then being another 10 pounds right now isn't hard to imagine. Add on top of that, how much lifting is he doing on a day to day basis, just because it's June, and soon to be July, with no required football yet....
Lastly: a year from now, he will just be getting to campus....even if he wasn't an athlete working out at a high level, a Jr to Sr. weight gain on a 6-1 frame can easily be what, 15 pounds over that kind of time period?

Many others have posted that the Cal emphasis is on faster LB's anyway....just to throw that in..

econ, in the case of mcdaniel, the arizona staff emphasized they're building their offensive schemes around a really short qb1 in noah fifita (a productive collegiate qb with zero nfl upside)...to someone like mcdaniel who lacks both height & weight too that wuz appealing...and we should thank robert for bailing late in the recruiting cycle in that it's opened the door for generational talent jaron who could be the bears next elite nfl quarterback & help sell out memorial stadium

in the case of pese the wildcats staff (that primarily consists of former san jose state coaches who routinely recruited 2.5+ gpa dumb azzs that can barely read/do basic math) emphasized to mays he wuz probably gonna flunk out in berkeley (scare tactics) & that they would scheme defensively around his lack of size...the 3.2 gpa listed by the monster wuz his best recent gpa & not his overall gpa which wuz sub 3.0

honestly neither of these 2 wuz good fits for the california golden bears football program

berkeley isn't for everyone (particularly for those that don't really wanna do the hard work in the classrooms of berkeley that's necessary to earn a degree from the #1 ranked public university in the world)

jalen williams ended up at santa clara & was drafted #12 in the 2022 national basketball league draft



both cody & jalen williams should've ended up in berkeley (it should also be pointed out that 2 of padraig's biz partners are cal grads that also run the section 7 recruiting extravaganza in glendale arizona), the point here is that it takes a lifetime to build a love affair with cal basketball but only 2 emails to terminate that love
