wake forest demon deacons 23
connecticut huskies 20

offensively wake qb1 hank bachmeier threw for 274 yards on 21 of 36 passes, the rushing game continues to be non explosive with a 2.7 yards rushing average

defensively the key to winning wuz physically stuffing uconn to 40 yards on 25 carries

congrats to the wake forest demon deacons (3-4) on the road win, the bears friday nite battle in winston-salem on november 8th is gonna be an important acc battle for both teams

smu mustangs 40
stanford cardinals 10

offensively ponies qb1 kevin jennings passed for 322 yards on 17 of 27 passing while rushing for a dynamic 179 yards while the cards qb1 & qb2 got higher gpas than passing skills despite nfl talent in the wideout room

defensively it's hard to say how fracking good is the smu d competing agains stanford's anemic offense but they did hold the cards to 33 yards on 35 rushes which is a remarkable stat

yeah the season finale road game to buc-ee's university of calveston against them smu mustangs (6-1) is gonna be the bears toughest remaining game on the schedule

fun fact: all diaper bags at oregon state's commencement will be searched for low gpas & ****

unlv running rebels 33
oregon state beavers 25

exciting game with beavers tight end jermaine terry (former bear who couldn't get his body right in the cal football's high injury/zero yoga s&c program) got tripped in the end zone on the game's final play but no penalty

offensively beavs qb1 gevani mccoy passed for 231 yards & is still the same straight up full tilt gamer to the final play that we saw last year as idaho's qb1

defensively the beavs are banged up which resulted in former bear andy alfieri playing both ways & making a pivotal play sack on the rebs qb1, this osu d is susceptible to the run but maybe not bloesch's predictable (once again zero PITCHOUTS) 1980s texas high school smashmouth run game schemes & and dangerously running the bears rb1 & rb1 into telephone poles which has not only seriously injured jaydn ott but also cost him millions of dollars in the 2025 nfl draft

real talk: if javid best had to play for bloesch he would've entered the transfer portal, a 1,000+ of his yards came on PITCHOUTS

A lot of us wanted Brennan Marion for OC the last two times we had an OC opening. UNLV hired him and now they have the #4 offense in the country even after losing QB1. Meanwhile we are #98

Marion only makes $300k.

. Besides OC/OL, special teams (kicker) coach I think we need a new strength and conditioning guy. I have no idea if Shocky's yoga stuff is needed (not saying it isn't) but it is very obvious that:
1. We appear to have a lot more injuries per game than our opponent (I guess we have stats on this)
2. We obviously have a lot of guys missing a lot of games with injury. Guys playing who have been hurt still look hurt.
3. Our guys seem to go down on first contact. Every other team seems to get additional yardage after contact.
4. Are all our fast receivers out? We could not back off NC St's DBs yesterday. Toward the end of the game they were playing tight coverage at the snap and we couldn't run by them. Maybe this is recruiting but I thought we had speed at receiver.

Anyway, if we are stuck with Wilcox, at the very least we seem to have very obvious areas that need addressing and certainly Knowlton and /or Lyons can review this with Wilcox or even hire a temp consultant to recommend certain changes that can be made.

Am I just having a senior moment with this post or do others see these obvious (to me) shortcomings?

There are so many areas that seem in need of change it boggles the mind. The one constant though is the hiring manager. Justin Wilcox has not shown an ability to hire. Things do not improve. We see a very consistent pattern of non performance.

Injuries, poor recruiting, poor offense, poor place kicking. Red zone offense, 3rd down offense and 3rd down defense. Game management. When to go for 2 when not to. Penalties. These have been consistent concerns year after year. This is indicitive of poor management and accountbility.

Cal may need a new S&C coach and regimen. But in no way do I want Justin Wilcox to be responsible for the hiring. He has been a consistently poor hiring manager. The program needs a major reset. It will be costly if done (which I doubt) and may be too late anyway.

You are of course right. It would be great if Lyons has the type of business mind that calculates that the cost of doing nothing dwarfs the cost of replacing Knowlton and Wilcox. Not even sure that this is realistic since I'm not a business man.

1.) I agree with those who believe we need a new Strength and Conditioning Coach. Losing Becton to Texas hurt the program. Maybe we can look at Texas's #2 person and see if they would be a fit. This is a must for a change and upgrade.

2.) Brennan Marion should be a strong consideration for OC/QB coach. I get others believe he would not come to Cal, unless he is the HC. He has not been an OC in the P4 conference to date. They could double his salary easily. He also could become a HC candidate if Wilcox is let go after the season too.

3.) If current OC/OL Coach Bloesch does not remain on staff, I hope and pray that that Cal looks at Brandon Jones from Missouri. He is an excellent recruiter, great OL coach and is Missouri's run game coordinator. We need to improve the coaching offensive staff.

4.) Burl Toler is a solid recruiter but I am not sold he is a great WR coach.

5.) Wilcox needs to hire a dedicated Special Teams Coordinator. I love the UNLV ST Coordinator James Shibest. He has excellent ST. They block punts, have an excellent return game, block FGs. He also always has solid to excellent punters and kickers. It's time to make a change. He would be a great candidate.

^ losing becton to texas definitely hurt the program, the current guy johnson had a recent cancer scare but that does not excuse him for not incorporating yoga to reduce injuries into the football program even after shocky emailed him offering to give him information from both myself & jaylen brown...and that's why you will continue to hear the wilcox blah blah blah football is a violent game, next guy up blah blah blah instead of solutions re: the failing s&c program to protect its players with the latest trends that include yoga as reflected by the personnel changes on the national football league/national basketball league levels & elite collegiate football programs

agreed brandon jones is an excellent o-line coach but he already worked at cal & did not embrace the academic high gpa recruiting component of football in berkeley

and while coach toler's wideouts do not consistently BLOCK downfield in the run game, burl is an essential part of the cal recruiting efforts with his trusted relationships

re: the kicking game, when mateen bhaghani's parents unilaterally reached out to me re: longwell breaking his promise to offer a scholly if their son won the starting kicking position shocky 1st suggested that mateen contact justin to talk about the situation but wuz tole that mateen didn't have much of a relationship with wilcox, that coach & his support staff including cherrington had turned the special teams responsibilities over to longwell 100%, it wuz apparent to me there wuz little special teams oversite from a head coaching perspective

as for unlv james shibest, luv how his mercurial punt returner is given the freedom to make explosive game changing plays (wilcox has imposed his standard that a safe non turnover fair catch is a victory) but has he evah recruited 3.5 gpa true student athletes??

one of wilcox's many mind boggling coaching decisions other than hiring multiple drunks & hiring multiple over the hill white azz coaching buddies who couldn't recruit wuz not going all out to hire a rising nfl special teams coaching talent in byron storer who would also be a devastating recruiter to berkeley

^ football factories like georgia & oregon bring in 4-5 all american high school qbs as high nil paid disposable gladiators to compete every season for the qb1 role on their roster...they promise all of them dreams of nfl stardom/paydays & future fake employment at nike or coca cola which never actually happens and then the majority of them eventually transfer out disillusioned as **** after already wasting half their eligibility at an academically mediocre school

brah, ride with those that u know truly love u, ohana baby!!

the university of california, berkeley=#1 ranked public university in the world (including ewa beach for those that wanna build generational wealth in the nfl like jared goff & aaron rodgers but also thru hard work in the classrooms of berkeley)

2024 las vegas pga tournament at tpc summerlin: 4th round update

heading into the tournament fighting for his 2025 pga tour card sitting at #129 in the 2024 rankings (top 125 retain their pga cards for 2025 which is basically worth around a million dollars+ in earnings), michael kim with absolute ice in his veins kinda like mateen bhaghani shot a clutch final round 62 which moves him up to #112 in the 2024 standings

TOP 10 round in the history of cal golf!!!!!!!!!!

r we getting the same championship level of ADAPTABILITY from wilcox, bloesch & longwell??#

keeping an eye on **** (shocky standing on the far side 18 yard line pregame in his gold villebrequin trunks/white t-shirt/black balenciaga kicks/blue cal golf cap)#
pregame kicking warm ups 90 minutes prior to the nc state game:

this is how it works, the starting kicker derek morris takes direct snaps from longsnapper david bird which are held by holder/punter lachlan wilson while kicker2 ryan coe kicks on the opposite side of the field with a mechanical triangle kicking tee which he picks up & moves around to different kicking spots

in pittsburgh the roles wuz reversed with coe taking the kicker1 reps & then getting hugged over the acrisure stadium railing by multiple family members after the 90 minutes pregame kicking warm ups (ryan grew up in 30 minutes from downtown pitt which added pressure to his day)

while morris drilled his first 3 field goals with confidence against nc state shocky noticed that he failed to make solid contact on multiple short field goals during the early warm ups which is always concerning, derek's kicking stroke seemed more abbreviated & not releasing his leg thru the short kicks (which is also a problem in golf in tryna guide chip shots with a quick stabby stroke)

so that's shocky on the far side 18 yard line with his arms folded, that's ryan longwell on the 34 yard line in the white shirt/white cal golf cap & that's vic so'oto on the 35 yard line also in the white shirt/white cal golf cap...the brainstrust is all there

but wait where's coach wilcox??

you would think after 3 losses this season attributable to kicking woes (a direct function of running off mateen) that the #1 pregame priority for coach would be to watch the bears (and beavers) kickers during the 90 minute early warm ups, wut on planet earth could possibly be more important??

fully expect justin to be on the field at memorial stadium at 11:30 am this saturday morning prior to the 1:00 kickoff against oregon state to check out/keep a first hand pulse on wut has turned out to the difference maker between a 6-1/7-0 and the actual 3-4 record this season

don't be a dumb azz (learn from ur mistakes & don't keep making the same ******* mistakes over & over in life while hoping for a different outcome)#
