then during warmups as the final process before leaving the range each bear under the eyes of one of the coaches needs to hit 3 shots in a row onto an imaginary green with the proper iron shot before moving on to the next par 3 & repeating the process

niners have an opening next to Warner, nobody really a surefire replacement. So, playing time is available, and playing next to Warner certainly makes things easier. But my point is similar to what you said in "he gets significant playing time, does well, and people hear that he went to Cal..." with the added bonus of all of his NFL fans are in the same geographical area as his college team and might think "oh, there's some talent there, I might as well stop by Berkeley on Saturday too"

I am always dumbfounded trying to understand exactly what it shows that a QB can complete a pass to a wr with no pass rush, no coverage, no reads or progressions. Just a QB and a wr playing "go down to the green Chevy and I'll hit you." What does that actually show? I remember seeing video of Shanahan watching Justin Fields doing the same things at his pro day, and we see how that's turned out for Justin in the pros.
