Someone needed to be canned for the performance of Cal basketball and football let alone the realignment debacle where we were open to joining the MWC. That he wasn't fired was an atrocity. Right now Ron Rivera, Lance Cooper & Kevin Kennedy (and 95% of the ESP seat donors including the Monster) are kinda putting up with ur bull**** decision to have that ****tard Knowlton in charge of Cal Football.

But guess wut? Ur very very CLOSE to losing all financial support moving forward which will 100% collapse not only Cal Football but also ur grandiose plans to endow sports nobody really gives 2 ***** about except u, Jenny, Markeisha & the Con Artist along with any support for Berkeley's academic mission.

President Drake isn't ******* around like u, he's transparently admitted the UC system is under attack with a financial tsunami of EPIC proportions. This is an EXISTENTIAL threat to UC Berkeley.

If u alienate the Cal football community by not making Rivera 100% in charge of all GM duties/responsibilities instead of the absolutely unqualified bureaucrat who has already put Cal Basketball into a death spiral then ur ability to navigate the financial challenges of the next couple of years is gonna be a foregone conclusion of failure & Berkeley losing it's reputation as the #1 ranked public university in the world.

2025 spring ball: practice #6

the staff hosted multiple local potential hometown heroes (with many more scheduled to unofficially visit tomorrow) as part of today's high school & junior college coaching clinic at memorial stadium

relatively lite day with tomorrow a key date in the 1st step in starting to configure the depth chart, saturday's practice #7 will be the last (other than than the spring game practice #15) public practice before the bears spring break week (the guys looking to someday get PAID in the national football league will still be working in berkeley)

shocky has been in touch with dozens of major donors during the last 24 hours since the rivera announcement, literally everyone is disappointed that lyons is strategizing with knowlton with wilcox reporting to the con artist at this time...knowlton got a universal near zero donor approval rating

so the consensus is that rich is afraid to neutralize jimmy at this time because of his testimony pertaining to the potentially costly ****show lawsuits emanating from the mckeever fiasco involving the truly evil as **** jennifer simon-o'neil...there's agreement that knowlton (who is a pathological liar, his empty promises re: the progress of the basketball practice facility & lying to a naive chancellor christ re: the northwestern athletic director opening) would be crazy (and risk jail time) by perjuring himself with testimony re: his enabling (looking the other way) non defensible role with the multiple suicidal ideration women's swimmers

ben an (72, tied for 11th): ben wuz actually leading the tournament by 2 stokes on the back nine until **** kinda fell apart, an will rebound tomorrow with no pressure/expectations...ben missed a lotta greens as a result of over clubbing & tryna flight the ball with NO EFFORT but maybe tomorrow he needs to strategize with full swings to max carry yardages

1st scrimmage (around 80 plays) with uneven quarterback play which is not surprising with the defensive ahead of the offensive as is typical in spring ball (particularly with the installation of brand new offensive schemes) with general manager ron rivera assisting in player evaluations :

qb1, devin brown took all the 1st string reps that wuz scoreless on all 7 possessions, there wuz 3 interceptions by tristan dunn, jasiah wagoner & luke ferrelli & also inside backer standout hunter barth blowing up multiple plays behind the line of scrimmage

qb2, ej caminong continues to develop with 2 touchdown passes & also a fun td reception from wannabe zony qb7 kyion grayes

qb3, jaron keawe sagapolutele threw 3 touchdowns against the 3rd team d with a nfl 50 yard strike to trevor rogers, the lefty's fluid throwing motion is as beautiful as a diamond head sunset

kicking: kyle cunanan missed a gamelike 50 yard field goal that had length but wuz wide of the goalposts

defensive backs: true freshmen/early college entrants cornerback jae'on young & safety aiden manutai are the real ******* deals but gotta get their bodies acc ready in the s&c program

^ the vastly improved s&c program under the intense leadership of coach novak & his all in staff are now publicly & transparently posting workout results/metrics within memorial stadium that can be viewed by fellow teammates, coaches & staff along with any observant visitors...underachieving in past seasons often taking plays off because of a lack of conditioning sioape vatikani has 100% embraced this process with coach anae's direct communications/tough love mentorship & has leaned/cored out his poly warrior physique with outstanding results with still more improvement on the horizon in his nfl quest via a standout senior season this fall

the previous non accountable failing beyond breaking bad candy azz soft s&c program wuz the #1 factor limiting the upward trajectory of the cal football program with the placekicking as the #2 deterrent to winning football games

glad novak made it outta lansing after all that happened (and has now created a competitive s&c program in berkeley reminiscent of ruthless billion dollars nfl organizations)

First bad day for Brown, who has been getting folks excited. Hopefully a lot of tipped balls and plays being blown-up reflects well on the defense being good despite all the losses to the NFL, graduation, etc. and not the usual oline issues. JKS easily is passing the eyeball test for a frosh. Everything I'm hearing from friends attending practices is the QB and RB rooms have not looked as good since the early JT years. Ott and the Jet look really quick. There are some big RBs as well that can pound the rock. Which gets back to oline again and a WR that can separate from everyone else so defenses don't stack the box. The usual concerns on offense. I'm hopping the transfer from UNLV can be that guy at WR. That said, I'm told expect to see a lot of Brown to Endries during clutch time.

Good comment on DBs - young guys have to step-up this year, not be about potential.

great to see coach novak's infusion of YOGA movement (at the 1:35 minute mark), yeah body flexibility is the key to quick twitch movement & allowing the body to fluidly absorb violent collisions without the INJURIES that hallmarked the brian johnson era of undersized candy azz soft/broken bodies...memorial stadium is the modern yoga of the left coast!!

2025 valspar pga tournament at palm harbor: 4th round update

ben an (71, tied for 16th): the most defining feature of the innisbrook's copperhead course other than the rolling carolina like terrain in otherwise flat azz florida are the double dogleg par 5s

fun fact: during both saturday & sunday's rounds ben intentionally pounded his drives 300+ yard on the par 5 5th hole into the 6th hole fairway to create a more linear angle of attack which resulted in 2 birdies!!

ben also intentionally tried playing the drastically downhill par 4 1st hole at kapalua's plantation down the 9th fairway early this season with not as favorable results...yeah berkeley golfers sometimes think outta the box in creating solutions with innovative course management

michael kim (68, tied for 28th): another great week for michael in all phases of his game, kim is now 11th in the pga tour's 2025 fed ex standings...michael (lives in dallas) is the only california golden bear that's gonna play next week's pga tournament in houston, a special week could get the #52 ranked player in the world a 2025 masters invitation (extended to the top 50)

the nickels/corners tend to be interchangeable as are the safeties, nothing is in stone at this time of fierce competitions for starting/playing time with multiple dbs also expected to play prominent roles with the special teams units

Spot on - Cal get hammered by opposing coaches over recruiting by stating that Cal is one of just 5 D1 universities that don't have a dedicated practice facility. To think it's a "red herring"/minimal importance to players on the team/those considering Cal hoops, is simply naive and not aware of this key disadvantage. Our two key players have been kicked off Gold's gym multiple times this past season when they were wanting to get extra hoop time/shooting practice in. The lack of a dedicated basketball gym on campus is a huge negative to recruiting the top players. NIL first in importance, but, development, competing/post season team, housing and ability to practice at any time day or night is extremely important.

arizona's largest whale donor arte moreno (owns the california angels major league baseball franchise) once tole me while playing golf together that the cal's monster class relentless posting of unflattering fotos of sean miller caused him to finally take his health seriously & trim down
