i walk & carry my lightweight leather mackzenie bag while the donald drives a golf cart literally to within 6 inches of every green...just as annoyingly, we then proceed to play thru every group on the golf course in front of us (why does he do this, why not just take the 1st tee time?)...it's funny to watch people's reactions as he dictates the playing thru, some golfers are understandably agitated while others want a selfie with him on their phones, he very clearly enjoys all the drama he's created

so he tells while we wait for the short par 4 8th green to clear that he thinks ferry point is one of the greatest golf courses in the united states (it isn't, there are at least a dozen courses on long island & the hamptons that are significantly better) & that he's qualified to make that statement because of his extensive travels around the globe playing golf, that nobody knows golf architecture better than him & that includes actual golf architects

so in front of his 2 buddies & his cart caddie i tell the donald that actually i'm one of the 13 guys (and the youngest) to have played the world top 100 courses & stare him down...total silence, one of his buddies who is the chairman of macys starts to laugh, & donald play punches my shoulder kinda hard, he's been pwned...whatever

dude is an interesting guy but playing golf with him is not really a celebration of the game but more like riding a roller coaster

colin morikawa's game is in a great place right now after a 5 under par 67...his patented fade is back after taking a hiatus last season & the game's best shotmaking iron player knocks multiple irons close to the hole...the glue to the round comes early (they teed off on the par 5 10th hole which colin's 15 putt eagle putt narrowly misses for a tap in opening birdie) on the par 4 11th hole...after driving it in the thick rough this week he hits his 2nd 50 yards short of the green into a bunker, basically it's the same shot he had on the 14th hole at kapalua 2 weeks ago which he skulled over the green to start his 3 hole bogey streak to lose the tournament...this time colin plays it back in his stance & plays a low trajectoryry bunker shot to within 12 feet & then drains the par putt...and yeah his shirt is not pink, it's fuschia

max homa wears his usual beloved dodgers blue outfit, not as good a fashionista look at colin...anyways his mark blackburn rebuilt swing is timeless poetry thru the ball, he could win his 1st major championship this year...his 4 under par 68 looks almost easy, his only minor mistakes today are blocking a drive or two to the right & also getting short sided on his final 2 par 5s which results in pars...max says a very potty potty bad word that rhymes with gift after the first par 5 par

walk most of the back nine with former cal wide receiver (#85) & fan favorite vinny strang...after earning his berkeley degree vinny played arena ball (he got blown up a couple times playing defensive back in the league's playing both offense & defense requirement) & currently lives in oceanside while working for taylor made golf...strang told me that if nfl rosters were larger that there might be a room for a guy like him who wuz basically unstoppable in the red zone hiding behind cal's monster offensive line & then utilizing his 4.4 40 speed to catch short touchdown pitches from aaron rodgers (who plays golf on a regular basis with max in north scottsdale)...vinny (coach wilcox wuz the linebacker coach during his time in berkeley & coached him up in an all star game in japan with justin growling like a bear after a few sakes) tole me when he played for the bears he wuz a legit 5'6" 142 lbs, luv this guy

walked the entire round with max's dad john homa who is an acting coach in north hollywood...he coached up denise richards in wild things which is arguably the most erotic movie of all time...we talked about a million things which mostly can't be shared here but will share this one story
