Shocky, Goforth from SC is in the portal. Great replacement for Femi. Can we land him?
goldy, we gotta lotta linebackers, we're probably gonna sell some of them on e-bay or something
Problem is most of them (like Oladejo and Iosefa in the past 2 years) have been more confused about their assignments than a Stanford band member during a halftime show

Another problem, the bulk of Cal linebackers are of the OLB type. We need ILBs. This is why Oladejo leaving hurts.

uk clash, this **** is changing by the minute:

favorite: brennan marion (35 years old, $400,000), the tulsa grad just got passed over an hour ago for the hurricanes head coach position in favor of the ohio state offensive coordinator kevin wilson

emerging dark horse: jake spavital (37 years old, $800,000), the former texas state head coach coached up davis webb to the national football league in an offense that showcases wide receiver talents

notice all the ages of the candidates, the next offensive coordinator is gonna bring a much needed infusion of energy & innovation to the cal offense

unless james arthur knowlton continues to **** this up with his misreading the room preference for paying gymnastic, field hockey & quidditch coaches top dollars instead while citing title ix & office of civil rights propaganda

welcome jake spavital & his family back to berkeley

this is fabulous news for jmike, jeremiah & mavin to put up ******* numbers, as stated above we're gonna run a vertically downfield attacking offense that showcases wide receiver talents

hesiman trophy candidate jaydn ott is also gonna benefit from opposing defenses no longer being able to put 8 in the box, there's gonna be room now for our poly speedster to create magic in open space during epic touchdown sprints to the house

spavital coached up david webb during his one year with the program into a national football league quarterback, the 1st day of 2023 spring ball cannot happen soon enough for jake plummer

from a recruiting perspective we literally went from the worst recruiting offensive coordinator in the pac 12 in billy m to now the best recruiting offensive coordinator in jake

this **** is getting live#

blitzy, hear what your saying but we're gonna be fine inside next season with the pac 12's leading tackler in jackson sirmon & would love to see the playmaking nate rutchena get way more snaps too

there are multiple inside linebackers that won't be returning for the 2023 season, those public announcements will be forthcoming

not watching femi take a miscalculated angle & running into the wrong hole is not the end of the world

He also coached up Manziel, a mediocre talent at best, at aTm to a Heisman and a #1 draft selection, even though neither Webb or Manziel have risen above mediocrity as pro QBs. So Spav has proven that he can do more with less.

Instead of focusing on Texas state, how about this. Does anyone have any real concern we won't be substantially better with Spav than we were with Musgrave and Baldwin? Not me. This looks like a near guaranteed massive upgrade.

history 2016: the study of a relentless passing attack & spacing for epic running plays

please note that this is MANDATORY viewing for every member of the california golden bear football team & every 2023 prospective recruit in north america

take notes, quarterback davis webb in 2016 set several school records while ranking 4th in the nation in passing offense...offense averaged 37.1 points per game and 513 yards per game, those are not typos

notice how the schemes are quick striking & vertically attack down the field particularly the middle 3rd of the field, no more predictable billy m wide receiver screens that got blown up for zero gain

jaydn ott is gonna love the spacing, he is truly magical in open space, the return of the pitch out to memorial stadium is gonna make grown azz fans cry with joy

exclusive cal's monster offensive line recruiting update:

coach saffell has extended an offer to 6'7" 320 lbs uber athletic tackle eliesa pole from chabot junior college who is a mid year qualifier and will be attending his next school in january

pole is not a dumb azz, the hayward native got a 3.4 gpa which is not surprising because he gotta lotta smart poly family members who would love to drive 19.8 miles (as a point of comparison hayward to pullman is 881.4 miles) watch him in person on saturdays in berkeley as a hometown hero

eliesa is a former basketball standout & has been playing football only two years, with his extreme +1 athleticism for a grown azz man that is 6'7" 320 lbs his upside is virtually unlimited

let's do this, what time is benji's bbq, another one???

walden recognizes that the starting spots during this 2023 spring are wide open & that there's a significant opportunity to the be an integral part of the solution for cal's monster offensive line

I hope everyone noticed how quickly the ball came out and how the TD's thrown by our man Plummer vs UCLA were similar passes. The plays are different because there were multiple dudes stretching the field in the Davis Webb video rather than just one main receiver.

cal's offensive line coach update:

barring new emerging prospective candidates this position will be likely filled very soon potentially by one of the following 2 current leading candidates:

mike saffell, future head coach in waiting, would be a superstar recruiter, might benefit from an older more experienced offensive line analyst/mentor on the staff

brian hamilton, texas state offensive line coach, worked at cal in 2015 & 2016 as a quality control coach focusing on the offensive line for both spav & sonny dykes...prior to that he was the head coach/director of athletics at concord high school...brian kinda looks he's related to spencer lovell or something

How long do you want to ignore this user?

ec, never say never but it would take a small miracle for jim michalczik to return to berkeley

jim (56 years old) is on the back nine of his illustrious coaching career, he's the associate head coach (earned $575,000 in 2022 & slated to earn $600,000 in 2023 in a relatively low cost area compared to the bay area) working for a terrific & likable head coach, he & his wife jennifer got 2 grown up sons and are more comfortable in a small town lifestyle and oregon state admissions will allow the enrollment of 2.79 gpa dumb azzs that are non academically focused which makes the recruitment of offensive line talent quite a bit less challenging than berkeley

jimmy m=not gonna happen

gk, never say never, but in this case you can save never

coach sirmon is one of the top defensive coordinators in the pac 12 & his son jackson is expected to lead the pac 12 in tackles in 2023

there's a better chance that tequila is gonna wake up before noon after a nite out checking on his string of portlandia dive bars than jim leonhard (who grew up in wisconsin & never lived on the left coast) ending up in berkeley

Shocky1, I figured he would be a great asset to the DB unit.

Too bad Gerald Alexander will never
Come back as DB coach. He was great coaching the backend of the field and working with all the players with tackling. He would be a lights out recruiter and open a coaching position for a dedicated ST coach and maybe that person can double up as a position Coach.

killa, as a former player would be very interested in ur thoughts (if ur inclined to share) re: this past season's schematic & techniques of the o-line room and who among cal's monster offensive line (that's not them in the above foto, that's a promotional shot for my upcoming move to open the t-rex yoga studio in yountville) got the most upside?

what's ur take on the current s&c program for this room as it relates to strength, bend, mobility & quick twitch reflexes?...is yoga part of the solution?...are u a fan of coach johnson's work?

most importantly, do you got a yoga/meditation practice like me & jaylen brown?

killa, great to hear you think jake spavital is gonna ******* kill it in berkeley, that 2016 offense averaging 37.1 points per game & 513 yards per game wuz more electric than last nite's closing time hook up scramble at tequila's newest portlandia dive bar "the last chance" which don't card nobody

one more question, do you got any thoughts/experiences with mike saffell and/or brian hamilton?

same question re: saffell & hamilton for goobear, it's also fantastic to hear that addy is telling you the scorecard in memorial stadium is gonna be lit up in 2023, maybe we could meet u again at "the last chance" on the way to corvallis to watch the california golden bears kick the toothy beavs to the damn curb

Just not Ruchena, okay? We all gotta eat some wolf meat from time to time.

wally s, 100% in agreement with you, the current linebacker much needed spring cleaning e-bay sale (the already noted departures will include multiple more public announcements in the near future) is gonna pave the way for the mobile & instinctive nate "the wolf" rutchena to make plays (he will be lockdown in pass coverage which is something that femi really struggled with due to his lack of speed) which is something that outside of jackson sirmon (104 tackles, 3.5 tackles), xavier carlton (36 tackles, 4.5 sacks, expect those numbers to double in 2023 as x man is ready now) & myles jernigan (32 tackles, 3 sacks, huge upside) didn't happen on a consistent basis in berkeley in 2022

yeah we need some more #42 as a silent predator of prey, he's gonna be howlin' at the moon
