2023 california golden bears preferred walk ons:

the 2023 preferred walk on class has focused its targeting of bay area true student athletes with high gpas & significant athletic upside...right now there are 4 committed pwos with mac dorward still sorting thru his options including the ivy league

rj stephens, 6'2" 250 lbs, defensive line, sacred heart fightin' irish

brady weingart, 6'3" 205 lbs, quarterback, redwood giants (transferred from the stinson beach dumb azz shockys)

wesley brown, 6'4" 215 lbs, longsnapper, san mateo fightin' benjis

tyler murphy, 6'4" 275 lbs, offensive guard, acalanes dons

high priority prospect, still uncommitted
mac dorward (far left in foto), 6'5" 300 lbs, offensive lineman, marin catholic jerry goffs

50 year decisions (and friendships)#

the university of california, berkeley=#1 ranked public university in the world (including its territories such as ibiza & so forth)
mateen bhaghani, 5'11" 145 lbs, kicker, del norte nighthawks (san diego)

another one#
Chris Sailor's site has Mateen listed at 6'1", 165 lbs, https://chrissailerkicking.com/player-rankings/profile?player=11763. Which seems like a good trend because 145 seemed a little light.

stillnope, and here's a funny 3rd totally different height & weight

my take is that mateen is hopefully the lighter measurements, that would mean he got more upside for physical tools development in the cal football program s&c's program

never b a smart move asking them curvy brunette yoga females how much they weigh unless u run the 40 under 4.4 electronically (not hand held) timed, ok?

don't be a dumb azz (better to palm a tight azz)#

jaden rashada's dad harlen sr kinda reminds me of lavar ball in his quest to monetize his son's collegiate income

but that's also putting a lot of pressure upon the 3.8 gpa jaden who didn't have a great senior season at pittsburg high school & is gonna face relentless public scrutiny/expectations/potential resentment not only from his teammates (who may or not may be aligned with him) & the fan base of whatever football factory that ends up buying his services for the 2023 season when this carousel finally stops spinning which may not be for a while (if ever)

and this modern day recruitment asks the question, so if he blows up next season what's gonna stop his dad from conducting more highest bidder negotiations for the 2024 season?...could jaden rashada attend 4 different schools during his collegiate eligibility?

also kinda wondering if opposing defenders r gonna take violent cheap shots on this young man (who is slim in his physical construction) who has been branded (see the foto below, note it has been since removed) by his handler as so thoroughly unlikeable?

marv lewis tole me about the 1st time that his buddy herm edwards met harlen sr (former sun devils safety back in the day) at the asu football offices, the 1st thing out of harlen sr's mouth wuz "how much is my son gonna get paid?"

parental trafficking#
played golf in a threesome this afternoon with mr sun angel at silverleaf, he took a bunch of calls (which is rare for him) from some guy named dilly (please note that nil collectives & head coaches never got any communication, they live on separate planets, right?) & then excused himself after 9 holes

the rashada family is taking an unofficial visit to tempe starting today, jaden has already expended his 5 ncca permitted official visits

mr sun angel tole me they hope to seal the deal this weekend, the sun devils can guarantee the 2023 starting quarterback position (cal & washington cannot do so) & also got schollys to burn which will allow them to give schollys to siblings roman (who just bailed from ole miss after a couple of months in oxford) & harlen sr both of whom are sub 3.0 gpa students unlike 3.8 gpa jaden...the entire family relocating to the valley of the sun (harlen sr is a former sun devil) will be a topic of discussion

wuz given a potential range of sun angel nil dollars (which will not be repeated) but it's not in the same zip code as the reported florida nil deal...any deal with harlen sr will require jaden to stick around for future seasons & not become a "free agent" after every season with the threat of transferring if the economic demands are not met

yeah the sun devils are playing with fire & they know it

forks up#

saw mr sun angel today, not gonna repeat the nil number, but harlen sr's nil envelope is not even close to full

What is it about Arizona/the valley that produces all these elite athletes? Was taking a look today at future classes of prospects and there is an incredible amount of highly ranked guys coming out of these programs in Arizona. Not just football, seems like a lot of big time golfers and golf prospects set up camp there too. Pretty impressive!

eastcoastie, scottsdale got modern yoga but no worries when shocky open his future t-rex studio in yountville the bay area's gap will be narrowed but make no mistake about it that it's a shame that s&c coach brian johnson did not significantly change/customize the winter conditioning program for cal's monster offensive line despite their granite statue lack of freedom of movement last season

but the reality is that u can do yoga almost anywhere...and that includes berkeley, brian

bowlesly, living in the desert is an illusion, it's definitely not the water in fact there is not enough water here for life to be sustainable into the not so distant future

that's why shocky is preparing for the grand opening of the t-rex yoga studio in yountville (gonna need a blue bicycle with a solid kickstand to zoom around getting my 32 oz green drink every morning) & playing out of coore & crenshaw's (the monster has played every hole ever designed by his only idol in life, bill coore who also lives in north scottsdale) soon opening brambles in middletown

big c, one of the most interesting (at least to me) things i've learned in playing the last 17 world top 100 golf lists is that highly productive (and happy) people around the globe get a lotta sleep, they are well rested, it's a universal truth

we can learn a lot from our doggies & kitties, they are always ready to snuggle up conk out with shocky for an afternoon nap at the monster's tree fort

u wanna know the ugly azz truth re: cal's monster offensive line?

angus mcclure basically lived in reno, he wuz driving back & forth all the time and not really keeping an eye on the s&c workouts, nutrition (and that includes hydration, u can't drink enuf h2o in life) & most importantly, sleep

coach bloesch in conjunction with future head coach in waiting mike saffell need to set up an immediate record keeping system for the hours of sleep every nite for the o-line room...and yeah hopefully the mikes are also gonna work with brian to improve a broken s&c system that resulted last season in an o-line room that lacked strength (other than sioape who arrived as already arguably the strongest player in the program out of high school, how is that even possible given cal's $150,000,000+ high performance center?), bend, mobility & quick twitch movement

some people think the shockster is some kinda 24/7/365 energizer t-rex & that's not even close to the truth, u gotta be rested in life plus sleep deprived people r krabby & no fun to be around

1. Good weather

2. Airport access from PHX

3. Low income taxes

4. Lots of golf courses

5. A golf community. Max Homa, for example, is a member at Whisper Rock, which has a ton of PGA players who are also members. He also plays at other courses there all the time, including the $677 he won at Papago, one of the Phoenix munis, earlier this week.

Brambles? Good Luck. I could care less who designs it, I drive by it routinely. It will be hotter than hell in the summer, (a huge absence of trees), there's no local lodging (35 minutes to Calistoga, the upper end of the Napa Valley)….. what they're asking for to join sounds stupid high, and the locals won't play it with Hidden Valley next door.

And those 1500 or so higher end condos and maybe 2 hotels(?) and 2 other course slated for Coyote Valley near Guenoc was 100% shot down by the state due to repetitive fire storms up that valley over the past 5 decades….
They're looking to be exclusive. No thanks.

alky, my only idol in life is bill coore, he is the claude monet of golf course architecture & arguably the most gifted architect in the history of the game with the coore & crenshaw (designers of sand hills) timeless & classically minimalist style (no homes, no cart paths, no fake water hazards, no gaps between holes, etc.)

the money behind brambles is cal grad eric berridge, his son charlie is on the golf team...and the club manager is gifted c&c team member james duncan who fully understands the magic of a tightly routed walkable links with your bag over your shoulder without a scorecard

brambles is the most exciting new golf course opening in california since cypress point

If it's in NSW and if you're going to own the land it will still cost a pretty penny, but I'll keep my eyes open! (Maybe I can find a lease deal for the tree and the airspace around it.) I watched a show (actually got through < 1 episode) about real estate agents in Sydney and it def seems like a spendy area (and they made the folks on MDLNY and MDLLA look like very tasteful choir-people).

the beauty of stormin' the court/field is that it is 100% INCLUSIVE, where you sit during a game has absolutely no bearing on how we all end up at the middle of the universe together with one love celebrating the magic of cal football/basketball

but gotta be honest with you, if you think model bakery's asiago bread loaf is the same europhic experience as stormin' the field/court, then we gotta do the hang at a future game amigo

one of the highlights of the above big game b-day scorpio skies experience wuz fist bumping my arch nemesis in life, yellow jacketed security guards who wuz also on the field...tole one yellow jacket, "hey your celebrating like there's no tomorrow plus your getting paid?"...she gave me a beautiful big smile

follow ur dreams (to the middle of the universe where all answers are revealed)#

jb, gotta technical question to you as an educator:

do you think high school gpas are the best indicator/predictor (in terms of a single quantifiable metric) of future academic success at the #1 ranked public university in the world?

my whole life has been overly focused on gpas, when my daughters shay & taylor have introduced me to their dates i always ask "what's your gpa?"

if they say they don't know, that's the wrong ******* answer in the monster's world

the other day even asked my new rescue/foster doggy benji what's her gpa when we sat down on a rock during a hike up the mountain

she just looked me in the eyes & licked my face, that's the right answer

true love>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>high gpa>>>>>>>>>ged>>>>robbing gas stations with driscoll

bowlesly, living in the desert is an illusion, it's definitely not the water in fact there is not enough water here for life to be sustainable into the not so distant future

that's why shocky is preparing for the grand opening of the r-rex yoga studio in yountville (gonna need a blue bicycle with a solid kickstand to zoom around getting my 32 oz green drink every morning) & playing out of coore & crenshaw's (the monster has played every hole ever designed by his only idol in life, bill coore who also lives in north scottsdale) soon opening brambles in middletown

no water, no life#
I'm not sure what I just read, but, man, that must be some good weed. Go Bears, Shocky.

what up bowlesly?

you rode ur blue bike from your en suite residence at bardessono (you look forward to your afternoon naps in the outdoor hammocks on property) to get some tasty treats at bouchon bakery for you & oski during his stay at the silverado institute for healthy living & rehab center before your evening shift as maitre d at the french laundry (you sold blackmarket reservations for $300 "gratuities") where you worked with your girlfriend a curvy brunette yoga female waitress (nice slides in the foto above) which you thought wuz a secret until her police sergeant husband with the napa county policy department pulled you over on a routine traffic stop & planted a suitcase of coke on you which resulted in a 18 year sentence at san quentin where you volunteered for library shifts so you could livestream from the prison's computers cal football on saturdays from memorial stadium so you could watch jaydn ott take pitchouts for multiple 65+ yard epic touchdown sweeps behind a newly energized cindo led cal's monster's offensive line in an epic victory against auburn which made for a great day until your new cellmate tapped you on the shoulder at 2:24 am & tole you he wanna do yoga with you

how we doing on this, is the monster rite or is the monster rite?

kick, push & jump (in yountville)#

Shockster, are you really moving to Yountville? If so, I'll have to meet you at the Model N bakery someday. Great English muffins there

When Shocky left California, he effectively priced himself out of the NorCal real estate market for places like Yountville. Maybe he could move to Vacaville and then drive over the hill into the Napa Valley. Really not that far... and it's still a "ville"!
I wouldn't assume that. Per Zillow a lot of North Scottsdale is more expensive than Yountville! Plus think of all the money he'd save on travelling to see Cal's MONSTER offensive line!

good info, harebear... i had just assumed that nothing in AZ cost as much as anything in CA. live and learn, right? if your next lesson is that everybody in california isn't necessarily superior to everybody everywhere else, please spare me, because ignorance is bliss... i don wanna hear it!
