the reality is that the con artist is indisputably the worst athletic director in the united states of america & its territories including ibiza

knowlton's stakeholder power comes from lying to the 78 year old benevolent christ re: the northwestern athletic director recruiting process (he wuz never gonna be hired according to my golf buddy at chicago golf club who is a longtime trustee) & false narratives such as mark fox is "hard working" (the least visible hc in the nation on the aau circuit) & that "he's liked by his players" (again 100% not true according to players, their families & former coaches) which are repeated by his dumb as **** minions/enablers

shocky is not listening to any of their ****

6956, ur not a dumb azz, it is also true that shocky is not a dumb azz either now that he know how to use bold print cuz its fun

the reality is that thx to the negative forces that have almost destroyed the magic of cal basketrball, the program is at an existential point after a 3-29 season & the few remaining season tix holders/donors almost ready to throw in the towel which means the program is at a breaking point particularly with markeisha everett's failed leadership in not offering free tixs to students like san diego state which is investing in the future (a hardcore fan base)

so the bears need to win next season, can we agree upon that?

if the bears start a walk on at point guard they will lose 25+ games

if the bears start devin askew at point guard they will lose 20+ games...askew got innate scoring skills but distributing don't come naturally to him, he will flourish next season in berkeley with a 100% healthy body (needs to become more bouncy & quick twitch, he moved last season kinda like a granite statue on valium) as a starter at the 2 with a 15+ ppg, there's a reason coach cal recruited him to kentucky outta high school

and no there are/will be zero point guards they got even half the 1 skills of ajay mitchell...he made 20+ passes yesterday in to tight windows, it wuz absolutely unreal...ajay got 2 years of remaining eligibility, as bad as the record wuz last season this is not a total rebuild so a winning record & maybe the magic of cal basketball will shine brite in a couple of months from now when the 2023/2024 season tips off

so joe pasternack is the best opportunity to win right now, not in a couple of years from now

very impressed with amir abdur rahim, he's articulate, passionate & proven himself with his remarkable turnaround at kennesaw state...my questions to amir would include his strategy at point guard for the upcoming season & also aau/west coast recruiting connections?...does he got a relationship with ryan silver to ensure the commitments of sharpshooter rodney brown & devin curtis?...will be bring jabri abdur rahim (moms dee dee grew up in oakland/berkeley grad) to the bay?

https://instagr.am/p/CnxXL5tPffO
amir would bring energy back to the cal basketball program, shareef would finally be invested in the program as would my yoga buddy jaylen brown whose next contract will be the nba supermax $290,000,000+...raising nil & practice facility dollars would be a real thing

can u imagine jaylen brown calling up a high school mcdonalds all american with a strong gpa & telling him why berkeley is the best place to build ur brand as an intellectual & also do u wanna be nil endorsed by me for my new clothing line 7uiceshops.com?

cal basketball head coach search update:

the con artist ****** up again

and that's why the search is now on criminal dana altman watch:

1) when will the ducks basketball season end?...oregon is currently playing wisconsin in eugene in the nit invitational, if the ducks win they will play again in the semifinals on march 28th & potentially the finals on march 30th at the orleans arena in las vegas for the nit championship
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/scoreboard/_/seasontype/3/group/98

2) will criminal dana altman retire after the ducks final game?...his current total compensation is north of $4,000,000+

3) will oregon's athletic director extend an actionable offer to joe pasternack at that point?

4) will joe & lindsay pasternack accept the multi million dollar annual lottery payout?...my sense is that they will accept the windfall

reality is that knowlton should've (starting with failing to hire dennis gates & never extending mark fox thereby obligating cal to $3,000,000+ in total buyouts) fired fox months ago & extended a back channel offer to joe thru roxy with the understanding that it would be accepted & made public minutes after santa barbara's final game of the season

but the con artist is not a deal maker (other than for himself) & the moment has mostly passed

if joe becomes the next oregon basketball coach, then mark my words that ajay mitchell will be the pac 12 mvp of the 2023/2024 season

so wut now?

amir abdur rahim interviewed today & is by far & away the best option that is realistically on the table...if jaylen brown will be the face of cal basketball recruiting & shareef mentors his brother with assembling a young staff that can recruit prospects with the necessary ambition to succeed in berkeley, then this could be a MONSTER hire

amir would need to find a true point guard in the transfer portal (along with encouraging joel brown to rejoin his teammates) to avoid an abysmal upcoming season but the #1 immediate priority would be locking down the commitment of sharpshooter rodney brown (the cal player comparison is alan crabbe)...momentum can be gained by recruiting as the only black head coach in basketball in the pac 12

as for the rest of the candidates, if the con artist goes in that direction they you might as well just lock the front door of the cal basketball offices & reallocate the over scheduled haas pavilion basketball times for the con artist's new non revenue quidditch program

Reading between the lines, crap, I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this basketball thing. We need to be the ones, deciding between JP and AAR. Third choice might be Stan Johnson. I'm not very high on any of the older, whiter guys who have been mentioned (and keep in mind that I am an older, whiter guy myself).

Or is Pasternack taking a page out of Knowlton's playbook, floating himself as a candidate at another school (hey, our football coach did it, too, and also at Oregon)?

And this is why you fire people as soon as they prove they aren't worthy. Start the search early. Get ahead of the crowd so you aren't competing with everyone to hire. How many times do we have to experience this same ****ing cycle of accepting **** coaching, not firing during the season then accepting a 2nd choice?

51, chancellor christ has already issued a vote of "no confidence" for her athletic director by excluding him from the pac 12 conference discussions & ucla board of regents meetings and more importantly by initiating the investigation into the potential cover up/disregarding the mckeever suicidal swimmer's concerns which would allow her to terminate the con artist & his #2 worthless bureaucrat jennifer simon-o'neil for cause without any costly buy outs

nv78, criminal dana altman turns 65 this june, rumours of his retirement are circulating according to my eugene country club buddy...oregon would hire joe pasternack because he's arguably the best mid major coach in the nation & also because the duck's point guard will richardson (12.2 ppg & 5.1 apg) is outta eligibility & the fact that ajay mitchell would be a legit pac 12 player of the year in the 2023/2024 season whether it be for the ducks or the bears

philbert, good catch, those are some weird comments from an almost 65 year old guy contemplating retirement...but let's be very clear here, criminal dana altman has never been classy & is an absolute piece of **** as a human being
https://bearinsider.com/forums/8/topics/28431/94

big c, stan johnson would be more attractive if his star point guard cam shelton (21.4 ppg & 4.3 apg) wuz not outta eligibility...if he's hired the potential for losing 40-50 games during the next 2 seasons is a legit possibility, hard pass even tho he's way better than all the old as **** white guys that knowlton is hitting up for hinge dates

tequila, literally every hire by the con artist whether it be coaches or more worthless bureaucrats like his cfo tom lowry or marketing director markeisha everett has been an absolute disaster, the fact that this site has failed to transparently interview him (or publicly call him out if he tries to play dodge ball with an interview) is 100% embarazzing too

just listened to altman's postgame interview press conference, he mentions that there will be an upcoming review process for all the players and that "there will be changes" to the roster, there is no mention of graduating with oregon degrees which why this is a worthless semi-pro basketball organization that ruthlessly cuts/waives under performers who end up as the night shift supervisor at the medford truck stop before they eventually marry a lot lizard with cfm pumps & eventually die a slow painful death from untreated stds

There is logic to Pasternak to Cal. There is no logic to Pasternak to Oregon other than using Oregon to get Cal to move or get more money from Cal. Worked for Wilcox, but he is an Oregon alum so it was plausible (still another really stupid decision by Knowlton).

My guess is that if Oregon/Knight wants to replace Altman, it will be with a bigger name coach than Pasternack. Oregon doesn't want a "hard working up and comer who can handle UC academics and help motivate donors" Oregon has its donor and wants to make a splash. Oregon wants to get into the B1G.

I think as time goes on, Pasternak will have offers especially for west coast openings, due to his age, the programs he was with, the west coast recruiting ability, and the fact that he was able to elevate a mid-major as a head coach. Not a lot of guys around with his resume. I'm not sure he would be favored at Oregon, but he would get an interview. As far as I know he probably is the top available talent resume wise on the west coast (not including retreads).

How long do you want to ignore this user?
joe pasternack short term benefits:

1) will bring elite facilitator/distributor ajay mitchell, there are several nice pieces to the puzzle already in berkeley but without the glue guy to make it all work the bears are gonna lose 20+ games again next season & continue to shed fans/donors, significant upward trajectory upside will be possible with his ability to pass into tight windows & make all his teammates look better

2) will ensure the recommitments of absolutely necessary sharpshooter rodney brown (cal comparison is alan crabbe) & devin curtis from ryan silver's west coast elite under armour team...for a program that is currently shooting/scoring challenged, rodney is a critical recruit for the bears

3) fundraising for nil dollars for current & future california golden bears

4) ability to quickly assemble a recruiting focused west coast staff which potentially includes former bears that got friendships/relationships with pasternack

joe pasternack's long term benefits:

1) fundraising for the much need basketball only practice facility via preexisting relationships with cal's whale donors

2) accessibility and outreach to both longtime & new fans to buy tixs & sell out haas thereby creating again an energized & loud homecourt advantage that storms the floor after epic victories

Yes, but as in their football hires, Oregon gives little weight to "West Coast ties." If they take a west coast guy they throw a lot of cash at Oregon alum Mark Few (who "only" makes $1.37 million) but is 60 and might want a final (bigger) payday heading into retirement.

If Pasternack does not get the Cal job (must be the odds on favorite?), Pasternack definitely would be a candidate to move up to one of the better paying WCC or MWC jobs (but probably better off racking up 20 win seasons in the Big West living with an ocean view) or maybe Oregon State?
