Maybe in the era of transfer portal my thinking is antiquated, but I think you have a high number, and part of that number is a decent amount of incoming Frosh...I think you have to be able to have development, and linemen who don't have to have major contributions until a year two minimum...calumnus said:Shocky1 said:✍️ Jaedon Roberts

cal's monster offensive line roster update:
coach bloesch is converting both former defensive lineman 6'3" 305 lbs jaedon roberts (2 seasons of remaining eligibility) & incoming athletic true freshman 6'5" 285 lbs frederick williams iii to the offensive line
this give the o-line room finally 16 school trench workers after years of only 14 schollys allocated, it's positive news that this room has been rightsized to 16 schollys
honestly it wuz a major mistake to not develop jaedon as an offensive lineman back in the day when he enrolled in berkeley back in 2020...reality is that the defensive minded coach wilcox mistakenly thought when he wuz hired as a 1st time head coach 6 years ago that he could recruit a bunch of unathletic (lacking foot speed/explosiveness) tall & mostly white tight ends/linebackers & convert them to multiple positions kinda like wisconsin failing to recognize that west coast football don't got the bad weather issues in the midwest & that u gotta score 35+ points to win in the more wide open spread offensive schematics in the pac 12...this overallocation of schollys to unproductive tight ends/linebackers resulted in an o-line room with only 14 schollys for years which has resulted in a weak pipeline of developing future trench workers...that's why the recent portal additions of UNICORNS mathew wykoff & barrett miller as critical much needed impact starters are the key for a successful 2023 california golden bears football season
don't be a dumb azz (16 scholly trench workers is the rite #)#
I think 16 is still low for 5 positions that require physical development, coordination and knowledge of the playbook, plus are not plug and play, but 16 is better than 14.

u might b asking urself, shocky, wut in the california golden bears football program is the most important development to track this offseason spring prior to next month's march spring ball???
we need the remarkably hard working #63 brayden rohme to get well over 300+ lbs in order to perform as the absolutely necessary lockdown left tackle starter necessary for a 2023 cal monster offensive line, ok?
brayden along with cindo is the 1st guy to practice & the last guy to leave the o-line room at nite...his dad michael wuz a ucla offensive lineman back in the day & is currently a top detective with the city of phoenix keeping us all safe at nite
the 6'6" rohme has been underweight his entire career & susceptible to bull rushes, s&c coach brian johnson gotta get off his broken down non yoga teaching azz & get brayden over 300 lbs for spring ball...here's the gilbert native's listed weight history:
weight at birth: who knows, shocky don't know everything, get off my ******* azz
2018 perry high school: 250 lbs
2019 season roster: 260 lbs
2020 season roster: 280 lbs (not accurate played closer to 265 lbs)
2021 season roster: 285 lbs (not accurate, played closer to 270 lbs)
2022 spring game: 250+ lbs due to mono like illness last spring
2022 season roster: 285 lbs (not accurate, played last season at closer to 265-275 lbs)
2023 spring roster: 290 lbs (not accurate, per quote below he's now 285 lbs)
brayden rohme's lanky frame with length can support an ideal nfl weight of 310-315 lbs, coach bloesch knows this is critical in his quest to build a 2023 monster offensive lineWe have a good one here in the 4th quarter!

how incompetent are james arthur knowlton & his #2 confidante (in charge of women's sports) jennifer simon-o'neil?
the women's volleyball team's last match wuz on november 25, 2022 basically 8 months ago...the team went 0-20 in pac 12 play during that season & also 0-20 the prior season too
so the con artist (who is an absentee bureaucrat during the current chancellor investigation into his & jenny's role in the mickeever scandal) just pressured out the highly disliked head coach sam crosson who just accepted the head coaching job at west valley community college a month before the season starts
there's zero time to recruit a new head coach, one of the assistant coaches will be the interim head coach for a most likely another 0-20 2023 season

cal's monster class exclusive update:Shocky1 said:Shocky1 said:Shocky1 said:latest update: former air force employee/current athletic department cfo tom lowry is now refusing to share with me in a sentence or two the total amount borrowed by the athletic department during the 2022 fiscal year & the general terms of the repaymentShocky1 said:
https://instagr.am/p/CrEHDvbPdHb
the monster made a post a month ago wondering why there aren't any interviews with james arthur knowlton, that post has since disappeared but no worries here are my questions & the responses from beth tafolla-voetsch the senior associate athletics director & chief development officer reprinted in their entirety (beth's answers are in italics)
question: I've been told my multiple major donors that Knowlton has been allegedly been told by Jennifer Simon-O'Neil that "for every dollar spent on men's basketball that a dollar needs to be spent on women's basketball," I'd like to get to the bottom of that misinterpretation of Title IX which is not shared by any other University in the nation.
answer: We need to invest in our men's basketball program and our commitment to gender equity won't impact our commitment to a successful men's basketball program. It should be noted, the law does not require us to spend the same amount of money but does require the experience of student-athletes to be equitable. We believe in gender equity and are committed to equitable experience for our student-athletes.
question: I'd also like to know if Jennifer Simon-O'Neil has signed off any academic silver bullet admissions for any incoming women's athletes during the last 5 years and if so how the compliance team is monitoring her potential engagements with those families to ensure there are no Varsity Blues repercussions.
answer: We would ask you to please reference the Cal Athletics Department Policy Manual that we shared with you last fall.
question: Would also like Markeisha Everett's marketing plans for Cal football and basketball, how come both programs are not making inroads in selling tickets with those without a Berkeley affiliation (particularly families) that are priced out of buying Golden State Warriors tixs and with the departure of the Oakland Raiders?
answer: Our pricing model for football and basketball is reflective of the market we are in and we have affordable tickets and payment plans for fans.
question: How are these 2 market share spaces being systematically pursued for season tix/gameday tixs selling opportunities?
answer: We continue to do market research and implement strategic plans to make us competitive in the market.
question: Why does she (Markeisha Everett) still got a 11 person communications team, can the coaches of these non revenue sports not write their own gameday reports which would allow this department to be rightsized to a couple of employees like her peer institutions that don't have Big 10 financed affluence?
answer: Our athletic communications staff has a myriad of duties in addition to writing game recaps and their work helps ensure our coaches can focus on our student-athletes.
question: Has Tom Lowry borrowed any funds either externally or internally from the University during the last year and if so what are the repayment terms for that debt?
answer: Yes, the department has. Please contact the Campus CFO to inquire about the repayment terms for the bridge loan we took from the campus in FY22.
further update: I've asked Beth for a one or two sentence response summarizing the total dollars that have been borrowed from the Central Campus.
question: Was Coach Charmin Smith's contract extended another year like other coaches due to COVID and when does her current contract expire?
answer: Yes all coaches including Coach Smith's contract was extended due to the pandemic.
question: What steps is the Athletic Department taking to reduce costs given the uncertainty of future revenue flow?
answer: We continue to monitor the changing landscape of college athletics and will continue to review and adapt when necessary. We are always looking for ways to increase revenue and hold down costs. Over the past three years, we have instituted hiring slowdowns, temporary pay reductions for coaches/staff, and reductions to sport and administrative operating budgets in order to balance revenue with expenses.
question: Will Knowlton consent to an interview with me?
answer:
as this transparent conversation indicates beth is an exemplary senior employee doing her best in a challenging work environment with both of the department's top 2 ranked bureaucrats currently under investigation by the chancellor's office which will hopefully result in their terminations & potentially even criminal charges
when the con artist & o'neil are walked to their cars, andrew mcgraw will be hired as the next athletic director to bring focus to the revenue sports of football & basketball while downsizing the currently financially unsustainable 30+ sports with beth tafolla-voetsch promoted to the #2 position within the department
the curse of the red baron (shut up, shocky)#
i've made a public records request for this information & also emailed the cfo of the central campus with a carbon copy to lowry requesting this simple information that should less than a minute to share with me
at a time of declining conference revenues/future uncertainty & less projected future donations to the athletic department (dollars will instead flow nationwide to nil collectives) it is financially reckless that knowlton decided to borrow money that will never have the funding for repayment rather than address the real issues of 30+ financially unsustainable sports, non performing coaches like sam crosson & charmin smith and costly buyouts due to his mismanagement of fox's contract & bureaucratic bloat within the departmentWashington State president Kirk Schulz says WSU athletics will have “temporary freeze on all current & future vacant positions until further review, as well as a pause on non-essential travel, purchases & new professional development” because of “significant decrease in Pac-12…
— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) May 23, 2023
a tale of two cities:
in pullman they are recognizing the new financial realities & cutting costs as financially responsible stewards to ensure cougars sports can compete in the future
in berkeley the con artist & his trusted confidante "jenny" have instructed cfo tom lowry (former air force employee, his dislike of cal football is apparent within 5 minutes of speaking with him) to borrow money from the central campus which will never realistically be available for repayment (long after they've departed berkeley never to be seen again)
and that's why they are requiring me to submit public records requests, they do not want to transparently share with me (and by extension you) the debt that they are amassing in berkeley
and that's just ****** up
the good news is that the original munger redacted report is not favorable for knowlton & simon-o'neil, the current chancellor investigation into both of them will be grounds for their terminations...u can bookmark this prediction, ok?
the con artist with his $1,300,000+ salary is taking a page out of the larry scott career management playbook...he's not gonna cut any of his financially unsustainable 30+ sports or reduce his hot mess of lazy azz bureacrats, that's gonna be someone else's problem

hate red, not sure u fully understand how fundraising works in the real world as opposed to barbieland..if knowlton got $200,000,000 then why is the athletic department borrowing $11,000,000 & there's zero progress forward on the basketball practice facility?Quote:
The athletic department has raised upwards of 200 million dollars through the Light The Way: The Campaign for Berkeley.
https://instagr.am/p/Cu71Aiju1MfQuote:
A university cannot publicly and legally claim that it has raised x number of $ unless they are secured. I don't know why the athletic department had to borrow 11m dollars. You would have to ask JK. What I do know, is that the athletic department has raised more than $200m. Unless the university is in the habit of lying to the public, the funds have been raised.
