oskisdoggyisnotpottytrained, rich lyons (the former dean of the haas biz school & the current chancellor for innovation & entrepreneurship but most importantly a berkeley undergraduate before earning a phd from mit) don't got much of a chance of being appointed the next chancellor based upon both his credentials in never running a university but also to be honest with you as a white male...lyons bleeds blue & gold and would be a transformational upgrade over christ based upon his understanding & support of cal athletics (albeit his sitting on the committee that voted to rebrand cal athletics as "cal berkeley" which is the unconscionable act of worthless bureaucrats like jennifer simon-o'neil who also served on the committee) but the politics make him an extreme longshot unlike shocky's favored candidate & probable current frontrunner dr adela de la torre

1) my favorite golf hole in the world is the timelessly fabulous par 4 16th hole at the national golf links of america in southhampton, new york...the drive is uphill to a fairway with naturally wild non symmetrical undulations that kick tee balls in kinda random directions...the 2nd shot is my favorite shot in golf, a kinda blind mid iron aimed at the giant flag blowing in the seaside breezes on top of the hill well behind the green to the punchbowl green which funnels well struck shots towards the hole with the iconic windmill standing sentinel by the green site...it's literally the perfect golf hole on a summer day

coastie, coach martin tole me his deal with our players (several of them mcdonalds all america during the cal's monster class era) wuz that is you played relentless nba level physical defense then he would let you improvise on offensive like they do in the nba without a lot of structure...and yeah that resulted in a lotta ugly azz offensive performances but the reality is that defense wins college basketball games & if ur a prospect that's wut gets your name called at the nba draft



wuz sitting in the 1st row behind the bears bench at santa barbara during the coach montgomery era when true freshman jabari bird got beat multiple times...monty pulled him out of the game & sat the bird on the bench...from a foot away i heard mike quietly tell jabari that until he learned how to play defense he could not play him anymore in close games...monty then patted jb on the knees & the bird put a towel over his head & i could hear him crying

and yeah the bird learned how to play elite defense & got his name called at the nba draft by the boston celtics

The defense is a good observation, Shocky. And Cuonzo's/Monty's strategy seems like a good one for college and high school. You don't play great defense, you don't play.

miami will be visiting memorial stadium & cal will be road tripping to florida state in 2024 atlantic coast conference battles, both florida programs lack an elite qb1 (just like auburn)
