Nice to keep up with ODowd even though they have not had top recruits since Onny was running the show at Cal and ignoring them. I think 80% of the coaches there are former Cal football players.

After St retired from the NFL, I wanted Tedford or Sonny to hire Sr at LB or later DC. Kelly hired him at the Niners and he was a DC at Illinois in 2016.

Jr grad transfered to Illinois in 2016 to play for his dad.

despite an unplayable lie after a wayward drive 50 yards into the woods on the 2nd easiest hole on the course the par 5 14th & a near hole in one on the drivable par 4 17th hole max homa shot a 72...and continuing to shove putts to misses right of the cup & a one foot tap in birdie 3 on his final hole of the day (the par 4 9th hole) colin morikawa shot a 75

and so with that being said neither california golden bear lost their **** & started drinking heavily on the course, they got sweet dispositions or something

the bears still doing 7 on 7 & some pad work but full LIVE VIOLENCE will not happen until next saturday's scrimmage...former safety/high gpa hunter barth is taking advantage of the reps at inside linebacker & flashing, very easy to root for this exceptional young man with such a bright future both on & off the field

bryan cardwell finally practicing at running back with a large brace & offensive tackle victor stoffel still not ready for full contact

jaydn ott luvs it when starting guards sioape vatikani & matthew wykoff are pulling for him, don't tell nobody but the key to the 2024 fall acc season offensively is gonna be the PITCH OUTS to ott in wide open ******* space on the edges that celebrate the magic of cal football



coach wilcox is NOT happy with the lack of offensive ball security, that **** gotta stop...justin also confirming wut shocky tole u that nick morrow is 100% focused & making strides in potentially starting at the critical left tackle position for cal's monster offensive line

update from seattle: jeremiah hunter is running with the 2s right now & the decimated offensive line is arguably the worst in the power 4 conferences which is gonna result in zero time for a downfield vertical passing game this fall for this huskies...j-hunt is gonna potentially come off the bench for a couple of quick developing bubble screens where his length & catch radius will be an advantage

speed (which is critical for separation) wins college football games & gets u PAID in the national football league#

overall with his game looking pretty sharp max homa with a final round 70 & finished 4 under par & tied for 25th while colin morikawa needs to just take some deep breaths & relax while keeping it simple despite a finishing 74 & a tie for 75th with a couple of journeymen like pittstop

yeah heavy is the head that wears the crown

reality is that this week's tune up at the san antonio buc-ee's open is just escapism, next week is THE MASTERS at which homakawa will be joined by byeong hun an at augusta national

coach bloesch (the best developer of talent on the staff followed by aristotle thompson & peter sirmon, yeah ryan longwell is the worst) has extended an offer to 6'6" 295 lbs 2025 offensive lineman mike klisiewicz from liberty high school in nearby brentwood

klisiewicz got a blue collar trench worker work ethic, he can already squat 465 lbs & clean 255 lbs, those #s will go thru the roof in the right collegiate s&c program...he would be a tremendous addition to cal's monster offensive line that has been coached up in high school


mike is not a dumb azz, he got a 3.7 gpa for an o-line room that got the highest gpas in the california golden bear football program, yeah earning berkeley degrees is part of the deal along with physically pounding for ground

fun fact: brentwood to berkeley is 74 miles for the fam/friends on fall gamedays

I sense Sirmon and Wilcox are one level above their best coaching positions. Can't blame them for not turning down promotions and more money. They did their jobs, ie keep trying to advance and let ADs decide if they are good enough. Of course we also have an AD who is at least one level above his best position.

74 miles? Sacramento is roughly 75 miles. Brentwood is much closer.

Yes "At least." I'd say Knowlton would be horrible at any level in the Cal athletics administration. He is in the wrong profession in the wrong location.

Sirmon was helped by his college roommate and best friend being the hiring manager for the Cal gravy train for mediocrities.

Tony Tuioti was at Cal under Wilcox. He was linebacker coach in 2017 and then DL coach in 2018 when Wilcox brought his friends Peter Sirmon and Andrew Browning in. Browning was promoted to DL coach from QC the same day Tuioti was named DL coach at Nebraska in 2019.

with the recent pac 2 settlement costing cal $6,500,000 & also future acc media rights revenues reduced by 70% (which the clueless as **** markeisha has referenced "as a donation back to our acc partners" the 2024 debt number could be $25,000,000+ for the upcoming fiscal year

there is ZERO chance that the athletic department will ever have the future revenues to repay these loans which means the department is heading towards a financial tsunami

^ all american damien martinez's imminent departure 100% changes the difficulty of the october 28th home game against oregon state, shocky stands corrected that this will not be the dangerous trap game he initially anticipated...as readers of cal's monster class know, he implicitly trusts the decision making of future athletic director candidate andrew mcgraw in this & other less visible decision making matters
