transfer portal updates: the last 19 player updates (recent portal entrants martin tine, marquis montomgery & tiumala afalava are not reporting any offers at this time) left berkeley without earning degrees from the #1 ranked public university in the world...pursuing the dreams of nil & nfl paydays and/or academic difficulties are the predominant reasons for their walking away from berkeley degrees

yeah shocky should've followed his ******* dreams back in the day and thrown away his haas biz ad degree & instead become a caddie by day & male azz stripper by nite in ibiza

https://instagr.am/p/CKUgUXYDb3O
but maybe that would've been a dumb decision???

Most of these guys are looking to get some portion of grad school paid for - just like non-athlete Cal grads (I don't see any of these guys the NFL). My best to all of them.

Elarms-Orr and Jackson Brown I would consider regrettable losses. Elarms-Orr had talent and athleticism, and was getting plenty of run here. Plus his mom is a Berkeley Alum. What went wrong there? And I still thought Jackson Brown was tracking to become an athletic starter on our OL (at some point). No big reaction on all of the others.

congrats to the cal golf team on the #4 seeding at the farms in rancho santa fe regional (the top 5 teams advance to the ncca national championship) on may 13-15th

while the stanford regional would involve less travel, the rancho santa fe regional is the optimal regional for the program because it keeps the team in california & also it's literally next door to the la costa resort which will host the national championship on may 24-29th...getting the ball flight carry distances dialed in & putting on similar putting surfaces will be a distinct advantage should the team advance to the championship tournament (pro tip: should the bears advance coach walter should take his team for a quick evening walk at la costa after the regionals before the flight back from san diego to oakland)...no team will have a competitive course knowledge advantage as the ncca tournament will be the unveiling of the 100% renovated gil hanse championship course at la costa, the current fotos indicate a lotta trees have been removed which will introduce more wind related strategies & better conditioning...it's tightly routed & a great walking course

and let's be real here, legoland is arguably the greatest amusement park on planet earth particularly the bumper car attraction which offers the amazing opportunity to earn an authentic legoland driver's license, let's ******* go!

pitts, agreed on elo but jackson brown don't got the +1 athleticism (lacks quick twitch reflexes & his lateral mobility is limited) & mental intensity/discipline to play for a coach bloesch offensive line...will be interesting to see if he ever starts at his dad's alma mater pittsburgh, right now he's running with the 2s

ursine, thx u for the FREE psyche & motivations analysis, yeah shocky knows he's a flawed person (can't do a handstand cuz he got t-rex arms, still gotta flip phone, can't beat collin morikawa or even his wife kat in golf, etc.) but it's always good to get confirmation

maybe u could help me better understand my monster ephinany at teacher john's 9:30 am class this morning at modern yoga?

anyways shocky realized midway thru class that one of the advantages of golf over t-rex yoga is that if u gotta pee there are usually a lot of trees (unless it's a links design hard by the sea) on golf courses & at modern yoga not so much

to be honest with u, when shocky eventually meets his favorite softball player on planet earth alyssa "happy dance" herrera my 1st question is probably gonna be how does she pee on gamedays with all that catcher equipment?

and so with that being said, from the light within me to the light within u, dom arigato

Did Moore play much for Fresno State last year? Curious if he was as productive as when he played at Cal? But clearly we recruited over him.

Moore was a pretty good back for us. Decent size and could find the right hole instinctively. Wasn't fast at all, though, and when he fumbled a couple of times, he went into the doghouse. Still, a decent back. Best of luck to him. Hopefully, he got the Fresno degree and that will help him... somewhat.

mark my words the university of calveston is a real thing, there will likely be as many if not more commitments from true student athletes from texas than cali in the 2024 & 2025 classes...let's be real here the importance of shocky bringing in buc-ee's with becky g as the brand ambassador for the university of calveston cannot be overestimated (not a typo)

Shocky,

I think we are making strides and did well not to make any mistakes that could hurt us. Did not see Herrera do much today, Elon and Antazaldo (sic) looked cool and dangerous. I do worry about not enough 'length" in the line-up, some spots seem like for sure outs for us. Strong teams don't have that.

byron nelson pga tournament in dallas: 1st round update

ben an: 66, 5 under par, tied for 13th
michael kim: 70, 1 under par, tied for 94th
james hahn: 72, 1 over par, tied for 134th
kk limbhaust: 2 over par for 16th holes

fun fact i: ben is #1 in the field in average driving distance at 332.4 yards

fun fact ii: kk sporting the "cal bears" yardage book in his back pocket

cal men's golf update:

coach chun tole me he got penciled in the following 4 starters for the ncca regional tournament at the farms:

sampson zheng (tied for 6th at the pac 12 tournament)
ethan fang (tied for 3rd at the pac 12 tournament)
eric lee (tied for 13th at the pac 12 tournament)
jeewon park (tied for 29th at the pac 12 tournament)

walter & assistant coach peter ireland are still evaluating the selection of the 5th starter & the alternate

my take is that nathan wang is the likely 5th starter based upon his tied for 41st finish at the pac 12 tournament & today's local qualifying (only 5 golfers advance) 71 at the challenging la purisima in lompoc into the final qualifying at lake merced on june 3rd for the 2024 us open at pinehurst #2...and senior aaron du would be the alternate

2024 berkeley elections: vote for the innovation/financial balanced budget party, rich lyons for chancellor & andrew mcgraw for athletic director

the exciting 2024 1st time acc season (with miami invading memorial stadium) is the optimal once in a lifetime opportunity to grow the cal football fanbase of non alums & current students at a critical point in cal athletics where there is no room for further missteps

the necessary welcoming (and inclusive) INNOVATIVE marketing outreach will require the termination of jim knowlton & the relegation of the obstinate markeisha to berkeley parking enforcement (8:00 to 5:00 daily shifts monday thru friday with two 15 minute breaks for multiple snickers bars) in order to tap in/connect with bay area/nor cal non alums in addition to offering FREE tixs to all students for games at memorial stadium & haas pavilion

the truth is that the current athletic department failed senior management of worthless bureaucrats has NOT built the fanbase during their time in berkeley & that's resulted in a lack of non alums & students as passionate fans that will buy future season tixs & consider donating to nil fundraising solicitations
