yeah special teamer standouts lachlan wilson & david bird are still on schollys...in fact according to shocky's nfl sources the bird will play in the national football league longer (jaydn will make a ****ton more coin tho) than any other player during the coach wilcox era

read that statement again & file it away, got it?...barring an injury, a 10+ nfl career for the future 1st team all acc/all american bird

walter, both tightends jeffrey johnson & jerry johnson iii are preferred walk ons, you got one listed as a scholly te

wide receiver mason starling has missed the last season & a half along with 2024 spring ball with a serious injury & is studying sociology, mason started franklin pierce high school in 2014 & got an aarp card...changing jersey numbers from #18 to #9 suggests mason is gonna try to roll this fall in the acc

plz also note that the staff's original plan wuz punter/kicker bobby englster taking his upcoming blueshirt year (unless there is an emergency injury to kicker coe or punter wilson) on scholly...in that he's not expected to play it would make more sense that the strong student receive an academic scholly for this fall before converting to a fb scholly for spring 2025

defensive back marcus scott is on scholly...it should also be pointed out that when players like collin gamble enter the transfer portal that their scholly is immediately forfeited, it's possible that the very liked/well respected collin returned as a preferred walk on with more than enough enough nil dollars to cover his final fall semester costs

in terms of scholly allocations, it's important to note that for the 1st time during the coach wilcox era that cal's monster offensive line has been finally rightsized to 15 schollys (after years of 12-13 scholly trench workers due to sorry azz recruiting by angus & greatwood)...yeah coach bloesch is the best coach/developer of talent in the fb program

also the tight end room is way over allocated with 7 schollys (oversubscribed right now is only a short term deal with multiple guys gonna be outta eligibility after this fall) while the least deep room in the program (which will require a major infusion of elite grad transfer talent after the x-man & reese pieces depart) is the outside linebacking room with only 7 schollys...it should also be pointed out that vic so'otos room got the most academic casualties the last couple of years

scholly roster math is as confusing as a 5000 piece puzzle (irregulary shaped with no linear borders) with 5000 similar looking fuschia pieces

this coaching practice along with racist attitudes/behavior against black female swimmers is documented in both of the dan mogulof initiated outside legal counsel reports & is 100% unacceptable

rkt, not gonna lie to u, if someone tried to intentionally physically or mentally abuse/victimize my daughters shay & taylor or anybody i love in a bullying sadistic manner to the point of them contemplating suicide they would become clouds of nothing (with law enforcement as the preferred 1st step of retribution)

mason starling is yet another success story of the san mateo community college remarkable staff of mentors that value academics as much as football...this is a program that annually competes for state championships but not at the expense of academic achievement

guys with sub 3.0 gpas & community college degrees can earn berkeley degrees if they work their azzs off in taking advantage of the passionate team of tutors at the cal athletics study center which is now led by former bear/nfl baller tarik glenn...low rent academic football programs like arizona recruit against cal by telling sub 3.0 gpa prospects that they will flunk out of berkeley which simply is not true for those that work hard

I like the quote "For the next 3 or 4 years, I'll be committing to..." from Jaron.

Didn't need to say it and I know it doesn't mean anything in today's landscape of transfers, but I gotta think this suggests that at least right now he does see Cal as his college home. And what's more, he's so confident that I'm sure he's saying 3 or 4 years because he views this as a chance to come in, take the job immediately or shortly, and play so well that he can make it to the NFL in 3 years.
