Still not sure how we blew out Arizona. It makes no sense.

Poor Plemmer. He cannot portal or he pays with a year. The promise of Cal FB got him too. He is being crucified behind this line.Strykur said:When does Ott hit the portal, then the floodgates will open.BearsorCubs said:

I believe we used Ott in that game. Crazy idea. Definitely not worth repeating.

Don't get down on yourself. And it's "locked-in" with incompetent leaders.KenBurnski said:

Well, it's obvious after that game that every other defense decided to key 2 or 3 defenders on him at all times. A competent offense should be able to take advantage of that. Not us. We only give it to him on obvious handoffs and rarely use play action to free up other guys.
That's why they all gotta go.

We tan him right up the middle on nearly every carry. Sick.

If he's smart, at the airport
I think Pedersen refused to accept his buyout. I don't expect Wilcox to do same.goldenchild said:egbear82 said:

We've taken losses to more talented teams. I can accept that. We've taken losses due to Covid weirdness. I can forgive that.
There is no excuse at all for this one. It's just a badly prepared team losing to a far less talented opponent. Worst game for this staff and I think proof that they aren't good enough.

What is sad to me is a lot of the players, especially on defense do appear to be playing really hard. Not so sure on offense, but some are, but they just aren't put in a position to be successful most of the time.
Other than the first half versus Arizona the defense has played well this whole season.nwbear84 said:

Coaching is only partly about schemes and adjustments its also about getting players focused, by whatever means, repetition, talent, interpersonal accountability among team leaders. It's not just "chance." There seem to be myriad problems in this "well liked" program and its so called leaders that does not produce good football. Is that shallow to say? ? if you don't want winning football and want noblemen scholars who toss a leather ball around on Saturdays then I need to stop supporting this charade.nwbear84 said:

That's another issue. Almost nothing to get him out in space. Are we trying to get him killed?

"In their first game under interim defensive coordinator Gerald Chatman, the #CUBuffs held Cal to 35 rushing yards. The #Buffs gave up a nation-worst 294.2 rushing yards per game through the first five contests."
Tedford didn't need stacked recruiting classes to get us into the Top 5 in 2004, there is enough talent on this team right now to be competitive with most teams.Nofado said:
Let's be honest here three star recruits are not gonna do it. We need to coach that can recruit top-tier players. Look at what Harbaugh did when he came in. We need somebody dynamic.
