Texans DL bossing the trenches.

Bad matchup, Texans' dominant DL with Rodgers' low escapability. Not a great way to end his career but there it is.

Aaron just threw a pick-6.

Will Tomlin put him back in or give the backup a shot.

Aaron's career may be ending tonight. Very solid NFL career. I'd say he'll have to wait a few (4?) years to see if he can get into the HOF.

Sad ending.

His next move? Adjunct professor, Life Sciences, Liberty U.

That might be a stretch even for Kaaron.

There's probably a team out there that would take a chance on him, but I think it's time for him to hang it up

I'm a stats person and seeing him end his career on a pick 6… truly hurts me to the core. Sad and very similar, farve last play was a sack that gave him a concussion. Never played again. Rodgers, although arrogant and kinda of a pompous ass, is such a great player. Will always be my favorite of all time. You had a long run, time to rest.

Steelers need to draft WR, OL, and RB. AR can't do it all alone.

This thread to be continued.

Not sure "very solid" is how I'd describe a career with four league MVPs. Spectacular is closer to the mark.

AR is a first ballot HOFer but I doubt this is the end for him. He played well enough that there will definitely be suitors.

He would only fit in teams that need a QB and have superior pass protection to compensate for his relative lack of mobility, a pretty narrow field of potential suitors.

True though AR was reasonably effective for Pit despite a mediocre OL and bottom-5 WR corps. That should be encouraging teams who are checking him out. His mobility is all but gone but he still has a pretty strong arm.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pit bring him back but I'm hoping the Vikings bring him in. They considered it last summer but ultimately decided to go with McCarthy as starter, who had a pretty rough season. I'm sure they don't want to hinder McCarthy's development but they probably would have been a playoff team this season with Rodgers. O'Connell is an excellent offensive coach and they have great receiving weapons. All they need is a decent QB who can run the offense and make clean throws.

Rodgers really wanted to play for the Vikings.

2026 Rodgers kind of reminds me of Gale Gilbert.

I think he will fade away a bit in a year or two after his retirement and spend quality family time.

Aaron still has college eligibility left If JKS gets hurt this year, he should come play for Cal. As effed up as the college rules are now, it will probably work. Aaron is just quirky enough to do something like that.

He would be completing his Cal degree, he'd be 100% legit, more so than the average NCAAF player today.

Heck, maybe GMac should suit up when that happens, ARod and him already have got their timing down!

I believe he's estranged from his family. Unless he's going to start a new one.

He could take another class from that professor who he claimed told him he would never make it in the NFL and ask "how do you like me now?" https://bearinsider.com/forums/2/topics/110140 Kind of Rodney Dangerfield Back to School situation.

Why MacArthur? Lupoi is Head Coach and was his teammate too. As was Toler who was on staff for 7 of the last 8 years. I know when Buffalo was trying to get rid of Marshawn, Aaron tried to get Green Bay to trade for him. Did Aaron ever try to get MacArthur to Green Bay as a free agent? There were years he could have used more receivers.

GMac played at Cal 5 years (his second year only 6 games and received a medical redshirt). He left with a Cal degree (or two?) and the Cal receiving records that still stand. But maybe DeSean Jackson will come back to finish his degree and fulfill the "what could have been" 2005 season?

MacArthur had some injury issues coming out of Cal which limited his prospects as a pro.

isn't Rodgers close(r) to MacArthur?

My point is that having a friend as a coach may mean he might be closer to the program than he might otherwise.

i expect to show up for Lupoi, as he did for Wilcox.
