i just re-watched the Cal vs. Stanfurd game on the ACC channel. In the second to last Cal scoring drive of the game. Cal down by 10. Cal is driving for a a score that would make the game a one-score game.
Cal is on the Stanford side of the field.
The Cal receiver breaks free and is WIDE open. No stanfurd defender within a few yards of him. It should have been an easy TD. Mendoza over threw the Cal receiver by at least 3 to 5 yards. A classic 'choke'

Lucky for Cal, Mendoza hits his receiver a few plays later for the TD that broughtt the game into reach.

I still don't think he will do well in the NFL - but I'm pretty sure that some dumb organization (looking at you Jets) will pick him in the first round at this point.

Shows what good coaching, O line, running game, good receivers and a solid D can do for your success. IU has it all. I'd like to see a study of what makes an above average nfl qb:

Understudy time period?
Pre-existing cohesive offense unit?
Play caller (e.g.: Kyle Shanahan keeps getting success)?
QB's brain?
QB's body?

Certainly all the above, but to what degree each factor (or others)?

I have not seen Mendoza at Indiana once, but we had some thread discussing his head (only via our collective observation) and I suspect he might score high there!

Being in the right team/system helps, see Kyle Boller under Holmoe and then under Tedford.
