No sacks is pretty big. Last couple of years it was almost guaranteed that Mendoza would take a couple of big hits every game.

Still mad that our offensive coordinator might not vote the way you do?

Yes

Me too. We really ought to investigate all coaches, players, and recruits to make sure that they are 100% on board with your views. We need purity. Freedom of thought should not extend beyond what's acceptable. How can I cheer for players that I don't align with?

JKS is stunningly accurate with a great arm. I'm blown away.

Yep, same.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

TBH - Oregon State had no way to prepare for us with a new OC and scheme and half the players being new.

Then we went soft D and they lost their swagger. We could get away with it vs Oregon State (a team we beat 44-7 last year). We cannot get away with that against better competition.

Question: when do you think we played soft D? I rewatched their last TD drive and didn't see a defense playing soft. We were actually pretty aggressive at getting pressure and Murphy made some nice throws against pressure, or was able to scramble out of it. On one play there was a nice screen call to take advantage of aggressive defense, and we roughed the passer to boot. Sometimes you can be aggressive and get beat.

White top/bottom with bold navy and gold pinstripes, glossy helmets, script Cal.

Distinctly Cal, not Michigan, not West Virginia.

Looks good on TV, maybe best road unis ever.

The drive Paco Austin came out with the cramp and Jair went in, we played more off coverage and they scored a TD, but I think it was an understandable move

Credit to the O-line, and also credit to JKS for getting the ball out when under pressure.

Unis were very sharp.

Great question. This was mainly commentary about the game vs Miami last year than this game vs Oregon State. Watching on TV in real time I didn't get a great view of how our protections were set up, how far off the receivers we were playing, etc. I'd be delighted to stand corrected and have it be more that Oregon State, which has a talented QB, got into a rhythm and found some seams vs us switching to soft zones and leaving things open for them.

Yes, JKS definitely showed a lot of composure in being able to get away from pressure or get the ball out.

But I remember the last couple of years where even against the weaker defenses we'd have at least a couple of plays where two pass rushers just crashed in on Mendoza before he could even finish his dropback, or someone came free on the blind side as soon as he set up to throw. There was nothing like that in this game.
