I'm also not in the industry, but the cranes for the SAHPC were also inside the structure, so there isn't a problem with building around it and filling the hole later. What is odd to me, is that they have had a rather tall green machine on site for sometime for driving deep support beams into the ground, but it doesn't appear they've used it at all. But, I'm guessing the new concrete is to support Memorial's outer walls, then this machine can rattle the soil with its pounding.
