Agree completely with one exception - our talent level this year is pretty high. We have a murderers row going from 1-8. When Bumgarner is hitting, its 1-9.

And if Brandon Belt comes back healthy we could have a pretty nice-looking roster. Not something I thought was possible last month, but Joe Panik and Andrew Susac have surprisingly become competent Major League hitters.

I still don't know how Sabean manages to patch together such decent rosters out of spare parts, but he's done it often enough that it's probably a skill.

The fact that Peavy and Petit are 2 of our better starters is pretty amazing. Never would have guessed that Huddy, Peavy and Petit would be 3 of the top 4 starters on a contending team this season. I think we have some decent offensive pieces but we don't have guys that jump out as stars, other than Posey, and possibly Pence/Sandoval depending on how hot they are. The dodgers have more guys who are considered "stars" but they haven't outperformed our guys this season. Puig has 13 hrs which is only 2 more than Belt in about 2.5x as many atbats and fewer than Morse. Maybe talent wasn't the right word but star power.

All true. Despite having won two of the last four WS, having the most passionate fanbase in BB and one of the best teams in the NL, the Giants continue to be under appreciated and it's players overlooked.
