Two games over 500 not so good for a contender. Getting swept at home by a weak team is no bueno.

We're a couple more sweeps away from two games over. Just give it time I suppose
I stand corrected. 7 games north of 500. A little luck and they're in the thick of it. A better season than last year. Does Buster not merit some credit?

What does it say that there have been like three times more posts on this thread in the past 24 hours than on the entire basketball board?

It says that the Cal AD destroyed the men's basketball program when Cuonzo left.

The offense sucks but it's going to be alright even though it's torture. Just wait until October.

I'm glad football season is just two months away. They Giants have terrible, brain-dead relievers, especially the close, who only plays well if he's expecting to pitch and fails miserably every time he's asked to come in because a situation unexpectedly presents itself, like a comfy lead turning into a save situation. That's on the coaches not having everyone mentally prepared. Matt Williams was a good third basemen. Being there on defense doesn't mean you'd make a good base coach, and he's not. Pat Burrell had some decent years in the steroid era. That doesn't mean you know how to hit, nor does it mean you can coach it. That's killing this team. We just spent a fortune on Devers, who batted .300 once in his life, and is a .270 hitter normally. The Manager is an airhead. And we have multiple position players who are barely worthy of maintaining a spot on a AAA roster. This team is an absolute disaster. Again, just glad Cal football is starting soon. Was hoping for a meaningful Giants/Dodgers series on Minnesota game weekend, but now just looking forward to the Giants game.

don't the giants have the best bullpen in the game by a mile? granted just based of a picture i saw on twitter, which means... basically nothing... but if it was accurate the giants have the best bullpen era by about a full point

oh, and on topic, Kershaw has looked pretty good recently

They do have a really good bullpen. People are just frustrated with a recent losing streak.

The bullpen has been extremely good overall. Which just goes to show how little margin of error this team has. If the bullpen slips up even a little bit (like they've been doing the past couple of weeks) they can't win.

Rather than relying on the bullpen to be dominant the entire year, it might be easier to just hit a bit more. I think when chapman gets back and Schmitt can settle into second, things will stabilize.

Where is Adrian The Cal Bear and does he still maintain Vogelsong is better than Kersh?

Raffy wasn't acquired because they needed a .300 hitter

I'm a progressive but am definitely not "woke." I generally believe everyone is entitled to their own opinions. With that said, there are certain things I simply cannot abide by. Not being tolerant of an entire group of people is definitely one of them.

That's not how I read his reference to his Biblical passage, and your conclusion seems like an overreach even though others may feel the same way. I've seen Kersh operate. He doesn't try to exclude and certainly doesn't do it in anyone's face. I am sure his intent was not to take a position against or be intolerant of the LGBTQ+ community. Just my opinion.

"The problem, as it were, is best described thusly: the verse has been frequently used by homophobic Christians to denounce the LGBT community as their appropriation of the rainbow is allegedly blasphemous."

This above quote comes from the dodger SBN associate editor

https://www.truebluela.com/2025/6/15/24449484/kershaws-cap-pride-night-2025

I'd also invite you to read the dodgers own Reddit fan site

https://www.reddit.com/r/Dodgers/comments/1lbadku/why_did_clayton_kershaw_add_a_bible_verse_to_his/

It seems like there are more than a few dodgers fans who have quite a big problem with kershaw

You are absolutely entitled to your own opinion. But don't try to make it sound like dodgers fans are backing this guy or my opinion is some overreach or minority opinion.

And this is my two cents. This is the SECOND time kershaw has stirred some sort of controversy at a dodgers Pride night. At what point is it not a coincidence?

I'll give you that it may not be a minority opinion. I don't have a problem with it. We have coaches at Cal further right than him, yet I still see fans of our program. I try not to mix sports and life too much. Peace bro.

Kershaw going tonight. 3 Ks needed to become the 20th pitcher to record 3000 strikeouts in career. And maybe the last.

Cole has a decent chance. Sale may be too old.
