Actually Cal has been making every QB look bad this season. According to the cfbstats.com site, Cal is #2 in the conference in completion percentage against allowing only 51.2% of pass attempts to be completed. That's a massive improvement. (Oregon State is #1 with a nonsensical 38.5% performance after 2 games.)

I took my Cal flag down midseason last year. After Big Game I admit I had no confidence in the staff, despite meeting and liking Sonny. I was way wrong, and it felt really good having the flag up this week. This game is, well, something I sure the heck didn't see. I love it.

Cal started the week #4 in the conference in PER against. The QBs they faced managed a PER of 97.69. #5 in the conference is WSU allowing 121.56. (Arizona was #10 in the conference at 135.20 PER against)

Again, this pass defense is a lot better than people realized. I expect we'll see those numbers improve if the defense can keep this performance going for another 30 minutes.

And I expect Cal will continue to lead in pass attempts against. They have seen an average of 43 pass attempts against them so far and Solomon has 33 attempts in just the first half. Think he'll make at least 10 attempts in the 2nd?
