Cock sucking by our esteemed voaching staff what else is new?

yeah, I thought we had the 'all-hands' team in there

Yah I don't get that one.
Why they were backing up on the rekick is a head scratcher. You can go get the ball you guys!

Arguing about worst losses is a very Cal thing to do, but I'll bite. Oregon State game cost us the #1 national ranking, killed our season, and essentially marked the turning point in the death of Tedford's extraordinarily successful program up to that point, at least IMO.

man, were you at the 07 Riley game? i ask only because that was a PAINFUL ending.
kudos to ua for getting the hail mary, but the feeling of not even being able to get a shot at a score because you ran out your own clock when in field goal range.........i would throw my laminated play book and headset.

agree, but we put in Rubenzer (the play before) and he lost yards because all 11 AZ players tackled him

I watched it on TV. I don't even put it in the same league as this. This was supernatural.

Also have to seriously question the coaching staff putting the same formation out there with the right side of the field stacked and only three players on the left side, especially after literally just seeing them kick it to the left side 15 seconds earlier in their first on-sides attempt. Throwing the ball out of bounds was bone-headed on the first attempt, but cowering from it on the second attempt was something I don't remember ever seeing on a football field. I feel bad for the kid but I think there may be an opening on the starting special teams unit.

I think the whole point of that play, is that if we line up on the other side the first guy kicks it. There isn't much you can do besides field the ball.

Well you can at least put an even number of guys on either side rather than leaving three on one side.

the sad thing is Goff, our WRs and RBs had an awesome game
just a shame that we could put up that many points and still lose the game

How about the '90 Big Game. Stanford recovered the onside kick in that one. I forget if the kicker missed the first one, and then the penalty gave him a second shot, or if the penalty just moved him into range. That was the first Cal game I ever watched, and it seems to have set the tone ever since.
But this game featured the opponent recovering an onside kick when it was expected, and making a hail mary in the same game. Multiply the odds of both of those happening. Truly hard to believe this really happened. One in 500, a thousand maybe.

I was already having bad thoughts at the tipped-up interception. Seriously, we regularly have like 2-3 disasters of Biblical proportions which we perform in order to lose games which we have no earthly way of losing.
YuSeeBerkeley;842363407 said:
Let's put things into perspective, here. It's been awhile since we regularly are even in a position to win.
Cal Bears Great;842363419 said:
Of course, the other perspective is that we were up 22 and gave the game away through an onside kick, a hail mary, and 36 fourth quarter points.

Guy's I don't know what to say. Thanks for the game, I hope there weren't any injuries, and good luck the rest of the year. This is not your father's Cal team.

The only thing that made me slightly chuckle post-mortem, after I'd sobered up:
Fellas, regardless of any specific outcome, I'm happy to be a Cal Bear and wouldn't want to be part of any other college fan base or online community. Hope everyone can bounce back on Sunday to enjoy some good times with family and friends.
