After watching the whole game I've come away feeling very good about this team. Defense was soft in the first quarter but ended up being dominant by the end. That's never happened against an even halfway decent team.

Bottom line - yes, SDSU's offense isn't great but our D is much, much improved over last year. Like night and day. To the point that the offense could slow it down and let the defense keep SDSU out of the game.

Take it in for a minute. SDSU has been bowling four years in a row, favored to win their conference and go bowling again. They could beat a few teams left on our schedule, not the "second-weakest team on the schedule." Number of teams at this level we have beaten in the Dykes Era - none, until today. And we dominated them. We beat a spread that had doubled during the week - by a lot.

Overall I'm very happy with the game and this team.

Yes, we're not perfect. Far from it. We left lots of points on the field - again. Special teams is an adventure. But the team is good.

The MWC is a little down this year...I will be very surprised if the Aztecs don't win 9 games this year and the West Division Championship.

The offense will get better and the defense is not bad. (You guys are by far the best offensive we will play this year)

The first half yesterday solidified in my mind that the Aztecs will probably win the MWC or at the very least win the West and who knows what will happened the championship game...Probably Aztecs vs Boise State. (we have beaten them 2 of the last 3)

You didn't beat a great team on Saturday. But you didn't beat a bad team. You beat a real decent team that will get better and "look" a lot better as the season goes on.

If SDSU were in the Pac12, they wouldn't be bottom dwellers. They have more than a bit of work to do, however, with their penalties, especially the type of penalties. SDSU should have a good season and go bowling.

Its a spot of the foul penalty. It should have been first and 9 (marked from the spot of the foul, replay the down). They marked it from the end of the run.
