What is true before the game will be true after, which is that regardless of how he plays today there is not a single person on this board who has had the success in their chosen field that Aaron Rodgers has had in his. Rodgers could walk on the field, fall over and chew on the grass for the next 4 hours and that would still be true (apologies in advance if any of you happen to literally be the greatest teacher/dentist/lawyer/baker, etc of your generation).

Rodgers is a legend and despite my fandom for the Niners I'd love to seem him pull off a great performance here in the twilight of his career. Go Aaron go!!

Rodgers making a lot of solid 1 yard passes thus far. Solid.

Congrats to hanky on learning the value of the reverse jinx.

And Rodgers just completes a 65 yard pass, all of it in the air. He's still amazing.

326 yards. The second pick was simply a Hail Mary. He did his job. Defense couldn't stop the run. Jimmy G a non factor.

The Niners were also playing soft coverage and milking the clock in the second half. The yardage total isn't that meaningful.

But yeah, the long strike to Adams remains impressive, for both players. The Niners definitely didn't want to give up THAT.

I wouldn't say Jimmy G. was a non-factor. With around 8 minutes left, GB was back in the game. At that point, unlike for the previous quarter, Jimmy had to throw. And he did, successfully.

I've seen very little evidence that Jimmy G. struggles to complete a pass when he needs to.

Not sure it would have mattered, given the aforementioned struggles their D had stopping the run.. but I hated the packer playcalling, especially in the 1st half. Waaay too many passes to the flat hoping the SF D would miss, and the 9ers had too much speed & tackling. AR looked great (mostly) throwing downfield and on 10-15 yard outs.

Sigh. SHould be a great super bowl though.

They also punted on 4th and 1 from midfield, which I thought was a big mistake.

Actually, it is plausible. If the Patriots and Chiefs spread coronavirus to all the AFC teams, and they are all eliminated. Then there could hypothethically be an all-NFC Super Bowl.

Amen. Football is a team sport. The greatest QB in the world can't win a game without a decent OLine and without receivers who can hang on to the ball.

(And, as we have so recently seen, without a defense that can at least slow down the other team's offense.)

I guess now, for QBs, the short list looks like Montana, Manning, Brady and Rodgers, pick the order based on whatever criteria. Anybody else get realistically considered for #1? Drew Brees? Johnny Unitas? Maybe in five years, Russell Wilson gets a mention? Maybe in ten years Patrick Mahomes (way to early yet)?

Pro Football Focus gave Rodgers against the Eagles last Sunday one of the highest scores for a QB since they've been tracking in 2006.
