One other thing Dykes mentioned was the recievers brought in last year and especially this year are larger then in the past which will lead to alot more physical play. The offense doesn't really feature a tight end, I bet if they could get an athletic te they would take him but otherwise would rather stick with the large receivers.

Fyi-They did start calling Anderson, Hudson, et.al. Tight Ends last season, and, if you sort the present roster right now, they are listed as such. I forget what letter that translates into on the offense.
I am still interested in how the receiving corp translates into speed, and separation in general. I'm not discounting the size factor, and that could translate into into being able to battle off the line, and maybe YAC. That all said, I still wouldn't be surprised if Stovall makes the quickest impact, relative to Sonny's comments about being shifty.

Most definitely agree they are listed as te's, I should have said Cal doesn't feature a traditional blocking te. I like Stovall too, I think Wharton might be a surprise also. I'm actually thinking once the last few wr classes have a few games under their belt they are going to be amazing.

Fair enough. Its going to go a long way for the season success if the guys who were around last year in some say (Wharton, Noa, Hansen) hit the ground running (no pun intended), and the guys who are there for spring learn quickly...

agreed.

i think it's extremely wishful thinking and borderline naivete to say "our WRs are so talented we won't see any drop-off next year" when you lost not only 6 talented, but experienced starting WRs, 2 of whom will probably get drafted.

that said, we've added some really dynamic pieces that give us a different element than our previous WR units, especially the shake&bake, make them miss types

Out of these guys we will find 7-8 ready to produce

Not much film to study Qb/Wr/play calling

Singleton still there? Agree with you on 6-7 ready to produce. I think the difference with these guys over the ones that left will be YAC. Hansen can turn up field (one of the fastest on team), Noa is shifty reminds me a little of Harper but tends to stay verticle, Wharton has some amazing highschool tape, quickness is off the charts, Bankead according to Dykes could be a playmaker, Strickland is a top recruit with a year to get acclimated and get bigger, Stoval is gonna be special and is already enrolled, vesay 6'3 220 and has jc experience, finally saw some film on him and he looks good. All the guys this year are close to or over 200 so anyone of them could play also.

I do think we will see a dropoff, you don't lose your receivers and have your QB go in the first round and not have a dropoff. I don't think the dropoff will be huge and I do think our YAC will be up this year (I wish CFB tracked it)

Singleton might be the fastest of them all. He was a nationally ranked hurdler. I think he might have burned his blueshirt, but we will see.
