Yah I like Spav. I expected MUCH better from Kaufman in his third year. Unless this defense has a miraculous turnaround during the season, Art needs to go. He's had enough time to show he can turn around a D, and so far he hasn't.

Yup. AK should definitely be replaced. Not much with schemes and obviously can't recruit to the defense.

Hr turned it around LAST year, from total crap to very mediocre. This year, he doesn't have the horses (OK, partly his fault for not GETTING the horses, but still...)
You realize the kick-off return and the pick-6 can't be blamed on Kaufman, right?

Yes that first half was a team effort in bad decisions.
In the end it doesn't matter if the D only really is responsible for 10. We are down ten and that's what matters
Yea, a good D and we would be in contention with the upper pac 12 teams. We need to get some better talent on the D too, though I really like Marloshawn so far

uhhh pretty sure he's talking about yards per carry...on the ground... 1.8 ypc. and 3.5 ypc (35 yards total) if you take out Webb's sacks.

Our defense through the first half of last season was #1 in turnovers. Then Goff fired 5 picks at Utah, offense was no show at UCLA, and sputtered again versus USC. Oregon was a fiasco but defense carried the team while the offense was dropping off through the second half of last year.
I am really really surprised that 1.5 games into the season and we have seen zero plays by DR. Get the freshman involved.

Nothing will get us out of the cycle of duck until we recruit horses. It's pretty clear we aren't developing defensive talent beyond group mediocrity. So if you can't coach em up, you're gonna need to get better at recruiting.

Eh. One TD given up by the offense and another by special teams. It hasn't been good, but defense has given up 17 which isn't awful. And they've been given some bad field position too.

well, for one, our run blocking wasn't great. and some were terrible handoffs that shouldnt have been made
We have open shots on guys where we literally don't even touch them.
I think I am too elderly to still be conscious at the end of this game. Next week in Memorial could present a similar problem.
At least we're not Arizona, losing to Grambling St. 21-3 in the 2nd half.
