All you darnold fans kinda quiet tonight.

If today Sam Darnold were Cal's QB and SC had Ross Bowers, who would have won. Exactly.
Would you take him over Goff? I wouldn't. I'm judging him based on the comparisons that he's been given.

That's a false comparison. Sure if I were the Rams I'd stick with Goff instead of trading him and gambling on a rookie. But every other GM in the NFL is not making that choice. It's either Darnold, someone else (who?), or another position. If I'm a team that really needs a QB I'd chose Darnold over Rosen or Faulk. That's the choice. I'd probably choose UW's QB over any of those.
Bowers won't get a sniff in the NFL. Just like Longshore.

Going to echo what Dajo said about playing QB at a powerhouse program versus other programs.
Aside from Brady, which other top QB played at a powerhouse program?
By rating
Brady - Michigan
Goff- Cal
Brees- Purdue
Alex Smith - Utah
Rogers - Cal
Matt Ryan - Boston College
Derek Carr - Fresno St.

The program is just a uniform but I do agree that playing with great talent, especially great receivers masks a lot of deficiencies. Darnold's poor fundamentals and playing backyard football all the time exposing him big time now.
absolutely. you have 3 starting OL out and you don't run quick hitters?Uthaithani said:
I think SCs OC deserves a fair share of criticism in all this as well.
You think U$C is bad? Check out the busts or very average QBs from the big schools from the state of Florida since the early 90s:Calcupcakes said:
Until proven otherwise, no Trojan QBs should ever be picked by an NFL team. Teams will just be wasting their picks.

Let's see how he does tonight. I think he has skills. Much better footwork than Longshore ever had.

Sam Darnold is not about stats....When the game is on the line, you want him as your QB.....He makes wimpy boy at UCLA look like a distant #2 even though Rosen is great under ideal conditions. Rosen disappears under pressure.............
If I own an NFL franchise, I WANT HIM. The kid has IT. The End.
And coach Longshore may be the Interim Head Coach for UNLV at the LA Bowl the way things are going over in Vegas!bearister said:bearister said:OdontoBear66 said:
