Statistically this checks out
Agree! That calling of two consecutive timeouts was pure chicken sh*t.oskirules said:I wouldn't, dick move.Kovy said:BearSD said:
Really, Petersen? Leading 24-0 and using your timeouts to ice a kicker before a 60-yard FG attempt?
Why wouldn't you?

So you'd prefer a 60 yard FG attempt which has a better chance at being returned for a TD than being good? I'll take a 2% chance at 7 vs. a 3% chance at 3. And before you say the INT could be returned, too, save it. Cal offense (with extra WR) has a far better chance stopping a return than the FG team against Pettis.

I'm watching Utah/Furd. Utah has a mobile QB. You need one to keep the defense honest. Decisive runner who feeezes the backers

Not if you include Cal's current statistics.fat_slice said:

no
I prefer recruiting linemen. I would be happy with an entire class of DL and OL for the mid/long term success... A good pair of lines can win a lot of games.CaliforniaEternal said:
Wilcox and Co. better recruit some playmakers at QB, RB, and WR quick, because this group is absolutely awful.
No one denies that Dykes was a recruiting abomination. All I'm saying is that at least he knew how to gameplan the offense based on the talent at hand, vs the talent he wished he had. We have to change our current scheme if we want to compete. Playing straight up is getting us slaughtered. I have yet to see us run a RB screen, WR screen, reverse, halfback pass, shovel pass, outside tackle pitch. Get the ball out of the pocket and out of Bower's hands as quickly as possible. Ross with the ball in his hands is not a + matchup.Grigsby said:TrueBlue42 said:
Worst half of Cal football I have ever seen. I know we don't have world beaters but we need to at least run some kind of misdirection. No play action or screen game. No reverses. Just letting Washington dominate us with a 4 man rush. Giving this offense zero chance at success. Say what you will about Dykes, at least he kept other teams guessing to offset the talent gap.
You realize Dykes poor recruiting put us in this mess.
We actually have, though....TrueBlue42 said:No one denies that Dykes was a recruiting abomination. Haha. false start. Morans.
Clearly, the OL and DL are in horrible shape too but without quality skill players this program won't win more than 3 games a year.LunchTime said:I prefer recruiting linemen. Baldwin has about as much to work with on offense as Buh did when he ran our defense and we know how that turned out,,

Maybe true. Hopefully Wilcox is good enough to build a team, regardless of who is right here! haha.CaliforniaEternal said:Clearly, the OL and DL are in horrible shape too but without quality skill players this program won't win more than 3 games a year.LunchTime said:I prefer recruiting linemen.
