yes, Mi Rancho, love his murals....neo primitive landscapesAnother Bear said:Hahaha...no mic drop. It just sorta happened. Food or pot, if someone needs some and you have some, the right thing to do is share, even if it's a bit weird. I was walking through with a buddy, stopped for a second..and this guy appears literally out of nowhere, so we handed it to him. Joint etiquette. Buddy afterwards wondered if he'd get AIDS. I said, we werent' smoking dicks. (That's still an inside joke years later.). Sort of like this...bearister said:Bobodeluxe said:
What do you have against old money, bro beards and people who poop on the street?
At least I'd be willing to break bread with the people pooping in the street.
p.s. that place at Lakeshore...Mi Rancho...man, $9.50 per...but they are good.
Why is this controversial? They are both equally hot using base 10 numbering. She's just shifted one decimal place to the left.Another Bear said:Holy hell...I guess there's hope for everyone...just have a wad of dough.B.A. Bearacus said:

I'm kind of shocked that San Francisco doesn't want the Raiders. I could understand Berkeley not wanting them. But wouldn't San Francisco enjoy Raiders fans??

The Raiders are still homeless.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Tuesday that the San Francisco 49ers are not planning to waive their territorial rights for the 2019 season so the Raiders can play at the San Francisco Giants' Oracle Park. The Raiders were closing in on a deal to play at the baseball stadium but have run into interference, most notably from San Francisco Mayor London Breed.
"As far as I'm concerned, the Oakland Raiders should play in Oakland," Breed told KTVU (h/t Sean Wagner-McGough of CBS Sports. "In San Francisco, we have a number of challenges that we need to address with the Warriors coming to the new Chase Arena, the housing1,400 unitsthat's going to break ground in that area, our transportation system, our ferry landing.
"We have a number of things for years that we've been working to prepare for, and we don't need another layer to add to what we already have in terms of an area that's really congested, filled with construction, and will host a number of concerts and games for both basketball and baseball over the coming months."

Business-wise Mark Davis can eat a turd. Skipping on $80m is pure BS. Personal style-wise...I have some admiration for bucking the trends or just being out there in left field. The Moe haircut...yeah it's weird AF but maybe it's the best cut for him...playing to his strengths. People obviously remember it.
Maybe his old man told him to pick a style and stick with it...you know like Al's slicked back hair, chains and track suit.
But wait...there's more! There was a SF Chron article (?) a few years back about how Davis still drove a 90's conversion van, held meetings at Hooters and lived in the same ranch house in Orinda. Mark Davis is his own man...a weird eccentric, with a weird haircut, one but still his own man...although maybe sugar baby wife changed that.

Mark Davis has the reverse Midas touch. Born under a bad sign (if you don't count the net worth of $500 million and the paid escort).
That's the article. I can respect the weirdness.okaydo said:Another Bear said:

Just out of curiosity, how many different corporate names are we up to now on that stadium? 16? 17? I get that there's some heavy freight that needs to be paid with some of the Giants albatross contracts but this is still a little ridiculous.

Trust me, as someone who got his dream retirement job working on the Giants field the upper management of said Giants, like many, are all about the $$$$$. We have so many field mangling events on that lovely place that I'm rethinking my decision. All in the name of money. They'll change the name of the field every chance they get.
Time for pitchers and catchers to report...boredom said:82gradDLSdad said:TheSouseFamily said:

I don't understand the issue here. They changed from ATT to Oracle because ATT had a year left on their contract and told the Giants they weren't going to renew and that the Giants were free to sell off the last year if they found a taker. I think most of the other name changes had to do with corporate acquisitions (company that owned naming rights got bought and thus changed names) that had nothing to do with the Giants.

Hi Souse!
re: your question...
Actually, Oracle is only the second distinct corporate name if you take into account that PacBell was bought by SBC which was bought by ATT.
As noted in another post, the Giants (worth billions per Forbes) are secondary to the Mission Rock development that is going up next door to the stadium. The partnership that owns the Giants and Mission Rock are rich beyond belief due to their shrewd wheeling and dealing.....
