Yeah, I've been trying to find confirmation of this and can't. If she's actually going to be on an NBC show tomorrow you'd think there would be something about it on one of their pages or their Twitter account or something.

I have no idea if she's being honest or not. But I worked on a case that was covered by one of the morning shows. I can tell you that (1) scheduling was very fluid to even get an initial day it would air; (2) even then we were given a very broad time slot; (3) our story got bumped to a new date at least once after a time was scheduled.

Edit: Meant to add (4) It was a decent sized story, involving some similar themes as this one, and there was no pre-airing hype, other than from the local lead in.

This is true. They are very fluid. I recently placed a story on the Today show. It was scheduled for sweeps and then it got bumped about three weeks but still made it during the same sweeps period. If this is a legit story, it could be postponed for days, if not weeks. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Reading the comments on Reddit were quite illuminating. It wasn't a particularly sympathetic crowd.
