Yeah, but The Furd started 21 true freshmen and 12 burned their redshirt year, meaning that they will be better and deeper too. Pump the breaks.
F that noise. We just won Big Game, I don't want to hear about those *******s. They just lost to Cal and have had a crappy year. They suck and they are going to suck. The tide has turned, its Bear territory and time for Cal to own them for a while.

They started 21 true freshmen? Or 21 true freshmen played at some point in the game?

Aside from the way it made us feel, even if you weren't a Cal or Stanfurd fan, this was a helluva college football game!

It's often the BGs where both teams are pretty bad that are the most entertaining. Party like it's 1994!!
Those are the competitive ones, because we are very rarely both good.

Yep, Cal bowl eligible, Stanford will not be. Stanford will likely finish in last place.

Schadenfurd!

Shaw choking up, teehee.

Pretty good quote from Shaw ... Garbers has only lost one game he has started. Would love to see a new OC and a better offense but perhaps Garbers is the real deal. Give him some better surrounding play next year and see what happens.

Edit: not sure Shaw is right about his stat.

Other good news: UCLA loses, so they have nothing to play for next week.

UCLA has been playing better than Cal of late, but When they're flat, they're horrid. Cal definitely has a chance.

Exactly. Best to have them disqualified from a bowl before playing us.

What a glorious afternoon. Proud of this team and proud of this board. Everyone really stepped up during the clutch moments. I thought both Garbers and Bearister made some tremendous reads. Go Bears!

It was a great afternoon. Thought about going down to the farm but stayed home, watched the first half at Triple Rock. Took a walk through campus and watched the second half at LaVal's on Northside with a handful of old blues. I hadn't stepped in to LaVal's in 30 years...had minor flashbacks. Reminded me of hanging out in a co-op; a little grungy, lots of wood and tutor stuff...scruffy Cal fans...and a Big Game win. A great afternoon!

GO BEARS!

Wilcox now 7-8 against the north division, 9-0 out of conference and a miserable 2-9 against the south. Wilcox has never beaten UCLA as HC. And 5 of those losses should have been wins. And 2 of those were against UCLA. Good thing Cal won today because I wouldn't want Cal to have to win in LA next week in order to go bowling.

Garbers started in our losses to ASU and USC. This is his 2nd PAC-12 win this year, maybe if you alter it to "games Garbers played every snap"?

On the other hand, one of those South wins was the first win at USC in 18 years.

Wilcox just announced that Baldwin is coming back.

Fingers crossed.
The Pac-12 network had an interesting point. In games where Chase Garbers started and played the whole game Cal was 4-0 (now 5-0) When he was injured at some point Cal was just 1-5.

It's easy to blame Baldwin, but the injury bug did have a huge impact. Cal also had 3 different QBs start a game this season. USC is the same, but they had the all around talent to avoid complete catastrophy due to that and have an 8-4 record. Stanford can't do better than 4-6 with their 3 different starters. It does make a huge difference.

So while I do think Baldwin makes some bad play calls, I also think we never saw him at his best this season due to the OL and QB injuries that really did have a huge impact.

It is looking likely that we'd have at least an 8 win season with Garbers healthy.
