I most remember Tom Caselli for the WSU game in January 1979.
WSU was a Raveling coached team with decent JC talent that would likely have been a tourney team if it was the days of 64 or 68 teams in the tourney. Cal had what was the worst team in my time as Cal fan until the Wyking Jones era hit. In the second half, from his seat behind the south basket, Caselli encouraged the crowd to REALLY get into the game when Cal was only a little behind, and it worked. The crowd then spurred the Bears on to a close victory, easily the best game of 78-79 for the Bears. It is still perhaps my second favorite game at Harmon/Haas behind the 5 OT game, just for how it was so clearly the crowd that spurred the Bears to victory over a decent team (and Caselli who clearly spurred the crowd on to spur the Bears on).
In late summer of 1978, my CALSO counselor took us to the Comeback Inn, where we drank and learned that the Comeback Inn was a good place for underage students to buy beer. I was sad when it was replaced by a second LaVal's. Not that I didn't like LaVal's, but we already had the Northside one, we didn't have another Comeback Inn. Sigh.
