A number of posters have observed that many of us are so traumatized by the Mark Fox era, that we are devolving perfectly good topics into cathartic self loathing.
So, I thought I'd make a separate topic to focus our emotions and leave the positive new era pumping alone.
I'll kick it off with my last rant:
And Fox refusing to make any changes - when EVERYONE was screaming that this isn't working. Fox went into bunker mentality and apparently made our best players question their commitment to the game (much less Cal or their teammates). That's not incompetence. That is willful neglect, denial and borderline abuse.
**** NO! Mark Fox should be locked in a dank basement with a group of widows and orphans and recite out loud EVERY ****ING THING posted here on BI. And every time one of the widows or orphans cringes, he should hand them part of the $10,000,000 he cashed.

I wish I could give this more stars. It was obvious Fox wasn't working out at end of year two, That's OK - sometimes things don't work. A seemingly OK hire can underperform. But years three and four ?!?! When dozens if not hundreds were literally screaming at Knowlton to do something. And he did nothing. I have not heard of a single person in support of Fox in the last two years.Quote:bluesaxe said:Quote:

Now that we have new coach, there is no need to bash the prior guy. Bad situation for him and is, now resolved.
Bad situation for him? Retread gets hired for too much money, produces no results but gets extended, and turns in the worst performance in history while not even bothering to try and engage the Cal community or do anything real to make better things happen. I mean, shame on Knowlton, but don't try to tell me all that money for nothing was rough on poor Fox.
