Kings' Fox says he's 99-100% gonna play game 5, with a split?

It's the tip of his index finger on his shooting hand. Uh, should the W's just sag off him into the paint? I don't know how one shoots from distance that way.
He made a 29-footer in the last minute of game 4 (after the finger was broken) to put the Kings down just one point.

That was probably before it swelled up immensely and also without a splint, with lots of adrenaline and no knowledge of the injury. Hoping it's as tiny as a Fox suggests.

If he can have his normal game, do that again, and eliminate the Warriors, his legend will be born.

The injury only increases the storylines in this great series.

OR
The kings simply head into the off-season like we all thought they would in the first place and the playoffs move on as expected with bigger fish to fry. The kings? They're only in Europe!

Back in the (?) 1980s, somebody recommended that I see the Kinks live, if I ever got the chance. Then they came to the Greek and I went, based solely on that rec. Awesome show! Thanks, whoever that was!

I saw them at the Berkeley Community Theater June 21, 1978. They were great.

I saw Ray Davies at Mountain Winery in 2012 with a strong 50 something sideman and guys in their 30's in his band (they were his warm up band). They killed the Kinks catalogue…which goes to prove, if you have the songs, good musicians can smash it!

As a kid one of the reasons the Kinks caught my attention is that they were the only British Invasion Band that sunk in English accents (a reason I also dug the Clash).

"One of the key elements is positioning. What many would call an intangible nose for the ball is to Milojevic simple math big men can learn. They look at film, and data, pay attention to ball trajectory all with the idea of getting Looney an early beat on where the ball is going.

Looney has been studying the probabilities based on where each shot is taken. He's gotten adept at reading how strong the ball was shot, and how soft, and how it might bounce.
"If you look at the trajectory of the ball," Milojevic said, "you can predict and anticipate. Did they shoot it stronger, or weaker, so you can relocate. And, of course, if you hustle, you can do all these things."

And then there is Looney's favorite part: banging. Milojevic teaches him how to strategically box out, how to initiate contact to keep a would-be rebounder grounded. They discuss angles, moves to get better positioning and how to take advantage of Looney's 7-foot-4 wingspan."

From last year:

Kevon Looney has become a rebounding machine under Warriors coach Dejan Milojevic- The Athletic
https://theathletic.com/3341604/2022/05/31/warriors-kevon-looney-coach/

"Kevon Looney is signed to a three-year contract worth $22.5 million with Golden State. The big man is currently playing in the first season of his new contract and is expecting to make $7 million. Come next season, Looney is guaranteed to make $7.5 million.Mar 1, 2023."*

Looney's last year is only partially guaranteed. I think that was done in the hopes of Wiseman taking over the job. Whoops!

Anyway, it's a good thing the rest of the league didn't value him each time he has become a free agent.

Loon and Draymond killed it tonight, as the Warriors actually win on the road and go up 3-2! That #30 ain't bad, either.

Anyone else see a discontinued dribble by Steph on that final basket?
I thought he got it hung up on his stomach as he entered the paint before continuing and circling around again.

Great game, again.

Fox lit it up early but was a brick after that. I wonder about the finger.

I had to drive after the game so listened to both W's and Kings post game shows, which auto record for me. Boy, the poor Kings people, they are so different than the W's team. They are resigned to losing and one guy was a sunshine pumper for the good season they had, and another guy got mad at him, but then said he was angry all show.

Looney started all 36 games as a freshman at UCLA, and I'm pretty sure some draft experts projected him as a Kevin Durant-style player (not to that level, of course). The fact that he has transformed into the player he is after all of his injuries is a tribute to his work ethic and ability to understand how he can best contribute to the team's success.

Guess Kerr said "not here"

Yep. NBA says he did.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nba-says-warriors-steph-curry-212444437.html

Steph Curry sealed the Warriors' Game 5 win over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night at Golden 1 Center with an and-1 layup with 22.4 seconds remaining in regulation.

But the NBA announced Thursday in its Last Two Minute Report that Curry should have been whistled for a double-dribble.

"Curry (GSW) brings his hand underneath the ball and pins it to his body before he resumes his dribble thereafter," the NBA wrote.

Totally unsatisfying video, but it's there.
I have yet to see it zoomed in on and slow-mo'd.

The nba 2-minute report mentions 2 other non-calls the would have hurt the kings, so everyone can find something in there and "much ado about nothing."

As a freshman at UCLA Looney's played (and started) every game, playing through pain with it being known that he would require hip surgery following the season. Originally pegged as a high 1st rounder, Looney's draft stock fell as a result of his known hip/labrum issue and that he would likely not be able to play during his rookie year (though there was SOME hope that possibly surgery could be avoided, and that the issue could be resolved or managed through rehab). So his draft stock fell. Still, he was drafted in the 1st round (#30 by GSW) because of his known talent and skill level (he shot 42% from 3 during his year at UCLA). Alas, he required surgery on each hip during his first 2 NBA seasons. But the Warriors stuck with him, and rode it out. Looney changed his body and changed his game. Loon - ultimately - won the battle. Warriors win.

I saw it on a replay the next day, after the L2MR was released. But so what? Refs don't catch everything. Especially when things are moving at that speed in real time. IMO, a tribute to Steph's otherworldly skill level. Deal with it. The Refs also missed Draymond getting clubbed across the face by Malik Monk on a fast break layup that cost the Warriors 2 FTs and an open, "practice" 3 pointer on the other end, as Draymond lay writhing on the floor underneath the basket where he had been clubbed. And the replays showed THAT clearly right afterwards. So no crying over spilled milk.

Didn't see that coming... what happened?!? Kings get virtually nothing from Sabonis, yet win going away. Warriors looked joylessly catatonic. I can see why* the courtside fans between the team benches and the scorer's table were in no hurry to come back for the 3rd quarter.

This was the time to bury 'em; now they gotta win on the road. Ouch.

The Dubs sucked tonight. Not to take anything away from the Kings, who played very very well. I hope Game 7 gets back to something like the 1st 5 games were, very exciting and competitive. Either way, whoever wins, I will root against the lakers or Memphis.

Looked old and tired with only a day of rest in-between games. Kings ran them off the floor with that small lineup. With an even shorter turnaround, how will they respond?
