Cal's defense not shining
Usual slow start. Gave up two wide open threes. Got our first lead at 12:30 of the half. 14-13. But now the Demons will be shooting free throws.
Let's send the Demons back to Natchitoches with a dominant performance. So far not feeling so dominant, but there's time.
Just saw that these guys are No. 259 on KenPom, compared to us at No. 127, so here's what I'm going to say:
1. We rally, win with some dominant offense = We have hope for a turnaround in 2025 and a fulfillment of NIT bid dreams.
2. We fight and barely win = Bring your dice for the next three games, but they showed heart.
3. We lose in any fashion to a team who should be a lock for a W = Abandon all hope ye fans who enter here.

We are 15pt favorites and playing like crap. I have to say, one big problem is our bigs. First of all, they're not very tall. They also don't have any discipline, and are pretty lacking in talent. We have to stop trying to get better by taking players from top teams who never play. There's a reason for that.

Dort shows flashes of big man dominance but can't score unless it's a dunk. Sissoko has been a disappointment. I agree that spinning the big wheel in the game of Pick-a-Portal is no way to build a team, but what choice to teams have given the unwillingness of anyone to grow a spine and regulate NIL?

Is it wrong that the Harry Potter Look-a-like contest during the time outs is more entertaining than the game?
Rytis is so scrappy but surprised he's not better shooter

They haven't given up and really started to play better once down 5. Even Dort and Sissoko stepped up their games, but they're not boxing out properly. Jumping on defense. And really bring very little to the offensive game. Maybe next year will be better. Even these guys from the middle of nowhere Louisiana look bigger than us. Frustrating. We should win this, though.

Well Andrei brought some life back into the offense. Up three at the half. Should be a lot more.

I was tthinking more Stojakovic, Ola Joseph and Petraitis

We got this. Here's the positive point of the day.
After 11 games last year we were 4-7. After 11 games this year we will be 7-4. No way to put a bad filter on that, it's an improvement by any measure.
