Not aimed at you specifically. Lots and lots of people have adopted the antiquated term here since the original famous "piped in music" rant thread like a decade ago, IIIRC originated by the blocked numbers guy.

I don't mind the music when the band's not playing but it doesn't need to be as loud as it is.

Pretty sure it comes from when they used pipe organs at ballgames and has been adopted everywhere where canned music is now played.

Fair enough. I don't mind ithe music either when the band's not playing, even at its current volume, if once in a while there can be a sequence of NO MUSIC, allowing spectators to actually talk to each other without yelling.

I tried to have a conversation with one of our subscribers at halftime last night and we had to yell as loud as we could to hear each other

Did you happen to be at the Stanford/Cal women's basketball game last week? Now I am about to turn 50 so take that for what it's worth but I thought the noise level of the music being played there was perfect. Not loud and in your face. I also don't recall them having a mic-person and if they did it was just yelling during TV timeouts or pauses in play. Regardless I felt like they have figured out the optimal sound levels but perhaps it's catering to the uppity old crowd but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The music is obnoxious and too loud. People complain and then the next game it is turned down. Rinse and repeat. Has anyone thought of going to the dj the south end and asking him to turn it down? Usually he is dancing to that crapso not sure if he will see you,
Bring back It’s It’s to Haas Pavillion!

congrats on a good win, but.. relentless DJ noise convinced me to drop (m)bb tickets next season.

Seriously. I had just entered Haas before the game yesterday and it was immediately too loud... and it stayed that way. Just turn it down a notch or two; isn't that obvious? And every spare second doesn't need to be filled up. I know they think they're marketing to Gen Z or whatever, but look at who's in the season-ticket-holder seats. I saw kids holding their hands over their ears at times.
This is absurd. It's a basketball game. It's supposed to be loud. Imagine if the arena was actually full. Bring ear plugs.
This absurdity is absurd. If people need earplugs to tolerate the game - then why would they come at all??

What is the POSITIVE of the painfully loud, non stop noise? Does it add to the enjoyment for fans in the crowd? Not if they have to wear earplugs. Even the non stop noise would be fine, if it was at a level that allowed a little discourse. All things in balance - extremes are for nutjobs.

Just absurd.

Exciting game on Saturday. After the Fox era it is hard to complain. For a while Miami was having their way with us. They were drawing out our bigs with 3 point shooting and posting up our small guards. On offense our rotation often didn't have multiple offensive threats. We were lucky they had no answer for Wilkinson's drives to the basket. My question is why doesn't Spencer Mahoney get a few more minutes? Their best sequences in the first half involved him. They moved the ball better than usual when he is in and he made both of his 3's. Curious about his +/-. When Miami was having their way he could have provided the size that was lacking and added a scoring threat. He might have been credible at the 5 chasing their bigs.

Still, happy with what is happening. Can hardly imagine pulling so many new players together and creating a positive atmosphere. Go Bears!

I tend to agree. He's 6-9, moves well for his size, and can shoot the ball. Recent games indicate that MM is using a pre planned rotation in which Mahoney gets a few minutes in the first half only. With Omot not coming back this year, one would think a few more of his planned minutes could go to Mahoney. And again, not to dump on Blacksher, but his minutes could be slightly trimmed to give Spencer a few more.
