Not sure how legit this is, but Kendall Smith, Marcus Lee's PG at Deer Valley, could be a grad transfer candidate. Put up 16.7 ppg/4.8 apg/4.0 rpg/1.3 spg in 33.4 mpg at CSUN last season. Shot 44.8 FG/37.5 3PT/76.2 FT. Very good list of schools, if true...

I hope Lee is telling him to come here. The question is, would he qualify?

Good find. Has anyone seen any video of him at CSUN?

Wow, very impressive. Especially like the highlights at UCLA and Stanford, for a PAC12 reference. Seems to have good court vision and passing skills, a good handle, can shoot the pull up jump shot, is tall and athletic, looks to have range on his shot, but of course the highlights don't show misses. Looks to be exactly the player Cal needs for next season. Hopefully, the coaches and Marcus Lee are in touch with him.

Bryan Alberts, 6-5 CG, Gonzaga. Grad transfer with two years left. Graduating with an Econ degree in the summer. Didn't do a ton at Gonzaga, but I remember him being a pretty good prospect out of HS.

Transferring Notre Dame wing Matt Ryan will take an official to Cal-Berkeley tonight, his dad tells me. Already visited Vandy.

This one sounds promising but he just finished his sophomore year so wouldn't help us for next season although we definitely have the space for some transfers to sit out.

Do transfering redshirts count against the limit? There is a strong upside of essentially writing off next year and stockpiling with kids like Ryan and the Dukester and then try to get some impact 2018 Frosh. Solid transfer wins will make be happy (and could be part of the Jone's secret plan laid out in the interview to make Cal Successful in the current environment)
(BTW - which could absolutely work if you believe that some of the kids most likely to transfer have proved, with a year under their belt, that they can handle the load. Here is an interesting question - for a kid with say 2 years done who transfers - will admissions look at JUST the college grades (aka like they do with CC transfers) and thus they could have UNDER a 3.0 in HS but OVER a 3.0 from another university and thus get the green light. Moreover, those kids will be older and more mature than the Frosh of the world - we saw how Ball wore down a bit and how it "hurt" UCLA in the tournie....and of course continuty cause the red shirt got a year of practice prior to even hitting the course....and a year to get used to CAL without the grind of travel if they need to stay back in Berkeley/slack off in practice).

Whatever that means.
