Not exactly sure. But he can't be in playoffs without an NBA deal.

Seems pretty foolish to not offer him at least a guarantee for next year. Worst case they could easily trade him. Pretty sure plenty of teams will offer him better if he becomes a FA at the end of this year.
Is it possible that:
A) Clippers signed him to a 2 year deal (is that even possible with the 2 way deals)?
B) Ty declined a one year guarantee next year and will try to get singed anywhere for a longdr deal based on his performance this season?
"According to a source close to Wallace, the Clippers offered the guard out of Cal a four-year contract worth the minimum with the rest of the 2017-18 season guaranteed, but were turned down because the next three seasons (2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21) would all have been fully non-guaranteed years. Considering how impressive and instrumental Wallace has been for the Clippers success this season, that's a tough deal for him to accept."
Apparently, if they don't come to terms, he becomes a Restricted Free Agent at the end of the season, meaning the Clips would have a right to match any offers, but I imagine several teams would offer him much more than what the Clips have on the table now.
