Jabari Bird - a wasted opportunity.
I would say it couldn't be worse, but then there is Mariet FordQuote:
strangulation or suffocation, kidnapping, assault and battery on a household member, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, threats to commit a crime, and witness intimidation
I agree. I'm not connecting to the Boston Globe with Facebook just to read an article and I'm not gonna subscribe. Just got the info someplace else rather than letting another entity mine my info.oskidunker said:

I hope he gets the help he needs. The description of the event is frightening. It could have been worse, he almost killed the girl. It wasn't isolated either.oskidunker said:
I hope so. Seemed like a nice kid when he was here. I wonder if the nba money changed him.
Me either. That's why I just clicked the X on the popup and read the article.Yogi Bear said:I agree. They traded him to Hawks, who waived him.SFCityBear said:
I notice the article said, "Former Boston Celtic guard...." Does that mean the Celtics are done with him?
Thanks.BeachedBear said:They traded him to Hawks, who waived him.SFCityBear said:

Seems like Jabari will be asserting some type of mental breakdown sort of defense.
Sorry, Concord, but there are mistakes and there are mistakes. Have you already forgiven OJ? How about Ray Caruthers? True, Jabari isn't a murderer, but could easily have been if the facts alleged are accurate.concordtom said:Like, duh!MSaviolives said:

Who in their right mind would do such a thing?
I have already forgiven him, and would give him a second chance. It's a very tragic situation for both of them. Granted I was not there. I did not see or read the exact details. I just don't believe that is who Jabari is.
Best of luck to them both. People do make mistakes. This was a big one.
Yes, can't argue with any of that.Ccajon2 said:
I hate when a player I like does things like this very depressing anyway he made 1349000 dollars he's toxic now and you'll never play again in the NBA and it's all very sad and I really feel sorry for the woman that he almost killed this is all just depressing news for me. He can spend the rest of his life living with his mom in Richmond or maybe in a couple of years when all it is settles down and he does whatever time he has to do he'll probably go play overseas for a couple of years but I'm quite sure he'll never be coming back to haas to a standing ovation and accolades from Cal fans
Well, like I said, I wasn't there to see the ugly details.UrsaMajor said:Sorry, Concord, but there are mistakes and there are mistakes. Have you already forgiven OJ? How about Ray Caruthers? Quite a few details have been released, Tom. That's why I wrote what I did. According to the facts that he admitted to, he choked her several times (to the point of her nearly passing out), kicked her in the head while she was on the floor, and she was hospitalized.concordtom said:
Look, I really need to read more about it. But I do not think the details have been released. Just the crimes by name.

Yes. It is horrible. He will (and should) do prison time.UrsaMajor said:Quite a few details have been released, Tom. That's why I wrote what I did.
