I hope we beat UW this Friday in Seattle.

It is not only necessary for our WBB NCAA hopes, but also would be great to beat UW in something and WBBis is our best chance.

A sweep here and a good showing in the tournament could likely get us to that 7th seed position.

CalFanatic, I'll even go further. Sweeping the two Washington schools will decide our NCAA faith.

I think we are a bubble team right now. A sweep this weekend and we will be a 7 to 9 seed in the NCAA depending on how we do in the Pac-12 Tournament. A slip this weekend and we'll have a losing regular season Pac-12 record (and be in the 9th or 10th place in Pac-12). NCAA Selection Committee is usually not very kind to the West Coast teams and then we may be in trouble.

So, let us take care of business and get a clean sweep this weekend. Then, we can look forward to the Pac-12 Tournament to get a better NCAA seeding.

Does anyone know what the Pac12 conference schedule will look like? It looks like we should finish 7th and Utah will probably finish 6th. Do we play them in the first round? Then if we win that do we play the winner of Oregon vs Colorado?

That's the most likely scenario. Utah owns the tiebreaker against us, so we can't do better than 7th.

A tiebreaker with Arizona could potentially go to them, but would go to us in the most likely scenarios. If teams split their head-to-head games, the tiebreaker is based on how each team did against the top teams in the conference.

Mine is a Samsung - it plays for a few seconds then freezes up. It played fine on my iPhone - but, between the power drain and the screen size, I"m better off on my desktop.

I also cannot watch the game online. I give up. I have to be a dedicated fan to watch only live stats!

This game is similar to Cal's squeaker over the UDub in Seattle last year. Melgoza went off for 30 points.
It is absolutely amazing how Cal can not devise a defensive strategy for the opponent's top scorer year after
year. Our opponents certainly prepare more formidable defense vs Anigwe. Both teams shooting 55% from the field.

Gottlieb had better give a good speech at halftime. This is a must win for Cal if they envision the NCAA T.

Cal continues to dominate the paint and now lead 53-37

Cal really pushing the tempo in transition.

UW gets its first basket after five minutes in the quarter. And Cal turns the ball over on consecutive possessions (bad long pass to KA and a 3 second call).
But Cal leads 53-40.

Over the years there have been two opponents that have really bugged me. Both Huskies: Plum and Melgoza. They play the same way. They push a lot on their drives and never get called for it and always get calls on defender even when they initiate contact.

So KA passes out twice and doesn't get an assist, so next time she just scores it herself.
And her defense is also strong.
And just as I type that KA picks up a third foul....
