Firehose is working OT right now to pretend that a Russian military transport that Ukraine shot down was actually full of POWs. Obviously this is a pitiful attempt to save face from the fact that Russian air defenses continue to fail despite shills perennially claiming they are state of the art.
My favorite part of Russia's fake claim about POWs being killed is that many of the "dead" POWs were transferred to Ukraine in previous exchanges, which just shows how utterly incompetent Russia is even at what they do best - laughably false propaganda. Or maybe my favorite part is Russia alternatively claiming the plane was shot down by UFA (which is embarrassing) or that the plane crashed due to incompetence (also embarrassing).🚨 💥 BREAKING: Ukrainian Armed Forces sources confirm the shooting down of a Russian IL-76 military plane transporting S-300 missiles over Belgorod region in Russia.

The rumor of Ukrainian POWs being on board the plane is FALSE. pic.twitter.com/2GtszJYI8v
Not sure if related (and haven't seen this elsewhere) but it's possible that UFA is doing a boot and scoot with Patriot air defense systems which would allow them to operate more deeply within Russian air space.
When reading the shills bold claims of success, you should ask yourself why we are 700 days into this 3 day war and Ukraine is able to expand the geographical scope of its attacks within Russia? The answer is obvious but it's not want the Putinista's want you to hear: Russia is nowhere close to as dominant as they claim and their only real path to "victory" is the west abandoning Ukraine.as a former ADA guy the idea of a patriot system close to the front lines like that was nearly unthinkable... but with the german type system its doable.
— david D. (@secretsqrl123) January 24, 2024yes the IL-76 was shot down....
— david D. (@secretsqrl123) January 24, 2024
BUT many are missing the big picture...
it was shot down over russia, not ukraine...
now russia knows that ukraine can reach 160km or more inside russia
this means that MOST of the large airports in russia can be shut down by ukraine at any… pic.twitter.com/nCsbb0jjHP
But fear not Putin stans, all of your predictions about what would happen with energy prices continue to come true. The price of natural gas in Europe dropped below $300 per 1000m³ (€27/MWh). Russia's Gazprom forecast the price to be at $4000 during this season, which turned out to be off by 1,333%.

Russia's budget is not so hot right now. pic.twitter.com/SYMcbN093U
Here's an interesting thread on Russia's attempt to break through UFA fortifications constructed over the last few months. We will see if Russia is able to have more success with this than UFA had going through Russian fortifications in the last counter-offensive.2/ The Russian newspaper Izvestia reports that the Russian Ministry of Defence has "approved a programme to increase the combat capabilities of combined arms engineering regiments and brigades." They will be equipped with specialised vehicles.
— ChrisO_wiki (@ChrisO_wiki) January 24, 202412/ Ukraine's fortified defences have thwarted Russian advances in places such as Avdiivka and have been expanded across the main sectors of the front. Over 1,000 km of fortified lines have reportedly been constructed by Ukraine since late November 2023.

1) Your silly source "David O" claimed that Russia had passed a law officially claiming former Russian territories like Alaska:
russia just passed a new law that says that their (soviet / empire) former land should be returned to them, or where the russian word is spoken....
— david D. (@secretsqrl123) January 22, 2024
this is now law..
soooooo
east germany
poland
moldova
all of the former USSR
finland
alaska
roes calafornia
and other places..… pic.twitter.com/BMMasGZOIx
Not such law was ever passed, I doubt it was even officially voted on. This guy is lying.
2) The Il-76 Russian cargo plane shot down by the Ukrainians was indeed carrying 65 Ukrainian POWs set for a prisoner exchange, a process which has been carried over regularly in this stupid war. Your source above is a lying propagandist.
65 Ukrainian POWs boarding the IL-76.
— ayden (@squatsons) January 26, 2024
Unfortunately I was right, rest peacefully to all the decent men who died in this crash. pic.twitter.com/zBGjh6qpRF
The reason why that plane was shot down is because the Russians did not expect the Ukrainian army to cynically kill their own POWs, they had their guards down. Perhaps it's just incompetence from the AA missile crew, or miscommunication, or the crew, probably a NATO crew, did this on purpose.
We might not know the circumstances or motivations behind this war crime, but the fact that the Ukrainian authorities covered it up lends to believe that it was a cynical decision. If your story of that Il-76 was carrying a cargo load of S-300s, the explosion would have looked like one giant spontaneous firework show.
3) Lie #3 from yet another junk NATO propaganda source, "Chris O":
Avdiivka is falling, Ukrainian troops are surrendering, the city will be in Russian hands this winter.Quote:
Ukraine's fortified defences have thwarted Russian advances in places such as Avdiivka and have been expanded across the main sectors of the front.
A mass surrender of Ukrainian troops to Russian troops. Thank God the Russians have mercy and takes them alive as they have done many times before. When entire platoons, companies etc surrender at once its hard to ignore and claim it's just a coward here or there.
— Noctis Draven (@DravenNoctis) January 24, 2024
No, the truth… pic.twitter.com/cvzqvJLpmB
A Ukrainian soldier, when interviewed, expressed his wish.
— Dautocrazy (@Dautocrazy) January 22, 2024
Someone please tell him that surrendering to Russia would be much better. pic.twitter.com/mQrHoGW18J
