I'm getting really sick of this war... and I'm just sitting on my ass in comfortable suburbia not getting attacked by drones.

Get Putin and Zelenskyy in a room:

1. Pledge to keep Ukraine out of NATO as long as Russia respects their sovereignty.

2a. Ukraine put up a valiant effort, but they're coming out on the wrong end of a numbers game: They will have to cede some territory.

2b. Russia maintained their resolve, but underperformed, in general. They don't get nearly all the territory they want.

Get some smart visionaries to use a sharpie to draw new borders. If Trump can play a positive role in this, fine: Bring him to Sweden next year and give him a "Noble" Prize (he won't know the difference).

After this, we can solve the Gaza thing, but let's hurry up because it's lookin' pretty dicey over there.

Turkey has to have low debt and discipline or else they would be totally cooked, as they have had runaway inflation the last decade, as a policy choice, Erdogan refuses to raise Turkish interest rates on religious grounds. Servicing high levels of US/Euro denominated debt with their weak Lira would have totally levelled their economy, they had to bring their debt down.

Australia is the sensible member of the West/anglosphere. Canada, which has a comparable size population and natural resources is at a debt to GDP ratio of 110%, Trudeau did a number there with some of the most generous covid stimmies among other profligate spending.

Every time Trump and Putin meet or cabinet meetings with Russians, Zelensky launches drone strikes. He's actually subverting peace talks. He did it again. We need to completely stop supporting Ukraine at this point.

Yes, the Russians can troll and sell merch too. I wonder how that lands with the parents of Russia's 1,000,000+ dead and wounded? Ha ha. Big f@ucking joke.

Russia in Russian is Rossya, spelled "POCCNR" in cyrilic (with the N and R reversed, the site software however does not support cyrillic so the proper letters won't show). The C stands for S, so it might have been a shirt spelling "ROSSYA" (POCCNR) and not "USSR" (CCCP).

One of the benefits of having followed closely this war for the last several years is that I now have the cyrillic alphabet down, hehe.

I've seen no credible source saying Russia has one million dead, but I'm all ears. The lopsided ammunition and weapons numbers point to the exact opposite, and leaked internal documents revealed an 8-to-1 lopsided kill ratio in Russia's favor.

Donbas collapsing, Ukrainian troops in dire straits.

The first letter doesn't look like an O. Otherwise, we'd see some of the right side of the oval.

Russia allegedly has advanced 10-20 kilometers in the Donbas.

There's pressure on Putin from his military to not squander their current momentum, and conversely, pressure on Trump to get a cease fire for the same reason.

You're right, upon closer inspection. Lavrov is doing casual Friday and trolling.

First time a Russian leader has stepped foot in Alaska since they sold it to us in 1867.
Making Putin walk between F-22's on the soil of the state we robbed them of. Power move. Geopolitical flexing.

What did that meeting accomplish?

Distraction from the Epstein files and an increase in prices.

Most of us prefer our president not treat a war criminal and a guy that murders his political opponents like a long lost brother.

In that case, he should simply do nothing so as not to distract folks from those things. How horrible of him to continue to do his job!

He did nothing. He did give an international pariah and war criminal a ride in the Beast, good job, way to go. He didn't have a high bar to reach and due to the lack of info on what they discussed or any type of agreement they came to, he didn't even reach that.

You assume he did nothing because he didn't end a 3.5 year war. Assuming makes an ass out of you.

Netanyahu is a far bigger pariah and war criminal, yet there are no complaints or outrage on his frequent visits and when our representatives keep genuflecting to him. Here's a stat for you, in the Ukraine war, children represent 0.3% of deaths. In Gaza, over 30%, 100 times the percentage of Ukraine war.

More likely than not, there won't be an agreement because of divergent interests/understandings and bad timing, but this summit nevertheless represents a positive step and might well bear fruit when the two sides will be closer later this year or the next, so kudos to Trump for putting it together.

You assume he did nothing because he didn't end a 3.5 year war. Assuming makes an ass out of you.

You would assume wrong, it's not because he didn't get an agreement there was little to no chance he would get one given Putin's track record. If by chance he did get an agreement to stop the war, what idiot would put any faith in such an agreement given that he has broken every agreement he has entered in to.? The problem was the big Cheeto gave a war criminal and an international pariah, a stage, so Putin could rehab his reputation and that of Russia which legitimizes them. They are a gas station posing as a super power, with a GDP equal to that of Texas. They got up one morning and decided to invade their neighbor under the guise of getting all the nazis out and saving Russians. They bombed civilians, maternity hospitals, train stations, killed children, shot old people in the back, committed war crimes, and kidnapped 20,000 Ukrainian children. So I think rolling out the red carpet for this idiot was wrong and accomplished nothing. Also, since you assumed to know why I thought it was a bad idea, and were wrong, I guess that makes you an giant ass.

I didn't assume anything. You said he did nothing. Full stop.

Also, if Russia were just a gas station, Ukraine, the second largest country in Europe (other than Russia), backed by billions of dollars of NATO weaponry, would easily be able to repel them back. That clearly isn't happening. We don't have to like Russia, but we do have to take them seriously.
