Things are going so well for Russia that Putin is periodically shutting down the internet

I agree with this, but it is the Ukrainians that have been dying at alarming rates all along.

You don't see scenes of Russian press gangs grabbing hapless middle age dads off the streets of Moscow or Yekaterinburg. It's always Kiev, Odessa, Kharkov, Dnipro etc.

The prisoner and dead body exchanges the last couple of years have been pretty one-sided, they give you a good idea of the real casualty ratio in that war.

The source of Sycasey's tweet, Mikhail Khodorkovsky is the most prototypical 1990s Russian bloodsucking oligarch, mobster-thieves who have sucked their country dry and pushed Russia into its worst decade since WW2 and the Holodomor. Khodorkocsky deserved a lot more than 10 years in jail considering he was a leading oligarch who as a group were responsible for the early death of 5 million Russians in the 1990s.

George Orwell's British media is alive and well.

According to these Brits, those scenes, which have been a regular occurrence on Ukrainian city streets for years now, never happened:

Good dog!

This is just a batch from this week, I have already posted several dozens of Ukrainian forced conscriptions on this thread and no longer bother with it. How can something that is so blatant not be a part of the conversation with these British talking heads - rhetorical question, they are professional propagandists.

If you are pulling for democracy and rooting against imperialism, this is not a good sign.

Ukrainians don't have guns for self defense?

The militias are armed to the gills, 150,000+ men who keep the country in line and profit from rackets like the "medical deferment" from the meat grinder for around $20k per head.

Goon squad activity posted this week:

No need for guns when dad is big and strong:

It's a good thing Putin has brought this chaos to play out.
Wonderful guy. Let's give him what he takes, right?

Where is your condemnation for Putin?
Or do you appease the way Chamberlain did?

Russia paid bounties to get our soldiers killed in Afghanistan and now they are helping Iran target our soldiers and now the Republican Party parades them around Washington like conquering heros. What is wrong with that party,

The Afghanistan bounties are Russiagate-grade BS, but the Russian support for Iran is true, though it is still nowhere as close as NATO's support for Ukraine, which has amounted to over $200 billion in weapons and economic support, in a war where nearly 150,000 Russians were killed.

The Russians on the other hand didn't even furnish Iran for a squadron of 48 Su-35 jets they have bought 2 years ago, their support for Iran has been lukewarm, with Iranians claiming that the Russians have been using them as bargaining chips with the US and Israel.

Sorry Tom but this is an incredibly naive take, reduction to 1939 is a cheap way to manufacture consent for this ongoing butchery of a war.

Putin offered several viable and reasonable long term peace deals to Ukraine/NATO, including the Istanbul Agreements at the beginning of the war, which would have preserved Ukrainian territorial integrity, but that deal and any peace proposals since have been completely rejected by the ultranationalists in Kyiv and NATO hardliners.

Regardless, the fact is Ukrainians don't want to fight this one-sided war anymore, the majority of troops being sent into the meat grinder are conscripts, and there are millions of widows and orphans. Lindsay Graham and co want to keep using Ukraine as a proxy against Russia, to the last Ukrainian.

The GOP is warped, twisted, sick, deranged, corrupt.

I'm ashamed to say I came from a long line of Republican donors and voters!
It mirrors America losing its way.

We can be proud of what once was.
We cannot be proud of the here and now.

Thank you for giving me something to research: Istanbul.

From my perspective, Russia took over Crimea and then amassed an army all around and invaded. I haven't been able to see anything other than that, which are both completely unacceptable.

I will try to get my head around finding a sliver of anything acceptable - but doubt I will.

Istanbul Peace Accords, with Boris Johnson serving as an errand boy to quash the deal.
